Class of 2014 - How Many Colleges Did YOU Apply To?

I sent out thirteen applications, but I withdrew two of them.

So far I have been accepted to three colleges and rejected from two. The cookie is crumbling in a funny way: I was rejected from my safety but accepted at my two top choices.

13 for me.

3 safeties
4 fits
5 reaches
1 ED top choice (between a fit and reach)

I guess my analysis for my top choice was right because I got deferred… Also got accepted at a safety.

Waiting on the rest is DRVING ME CRAZY.

4.

UMaine, UMaine-Farmington, Hartford, SUNY Buffalo. Got in to all 4.

I was originally going to apply to as many as 8 (add Florida State, Southern Conn St, Castleton, Purdue) but I got into my top choice (Maine).

I’m not superstitious.

I applied to 8. One was a state school I got an automatic full ride that I applied to because the application took less than five minutes.

12 (well, 11 if you count Emory and Oxford as one school)

3 safeties -Got into 2, still waiting on the 3rd (but I got a full scholarship there so its only a matter of getting my acceptance letter)
3 matches (Still Waiting)
6 reaches - Rejected from 1 (UMiami), Got into 1 (Brandeis, 3rd choice) but still waiting for the others…

perfect 10 for me

3 reach schools- Rejected from 1. Waitlisted @1. Still waiting for 3rd
4 match schools-Rejected from 1. Accepted @1. Still waiting on 2
3 safety schools- Got into 2. Still waiting on the 3rd

6 likelies and 6 unsure, thats how i roll

ermm…5
1 safety(in)
3 Matches
1 Reach(deferred SCEA)

Applied to 9:

Accepted: SUNY Geneseo

Unknown: Brown, Dartmouth, Middlebury, URochester, Pepperdine, Boston College and Cornell

Withdrawn: Wake Forest

I applied to 9.

5 got into all.

1 reach (got in and attending)
2 matches
3 safeties

I kind of wish I had applied to more reaches, only my reach required an essay the others required supplimental essays and I just used the same one for each.

It seems like people either apply to a few <5 or a TON!!!

1 EA acceptance, 1 early due to rolling and then an ED II that ended the admission season early :D

And for a reality check so we can appreciate how skewed CC is . . .

2009 Nat’l Sudent Survey
Number of colleges applied to for admission this year
1 14.10%
2 10.50% ~1/4 applied to only 1 or 2 schools
3 13.30%
4 15.70% ~half applied to 4 or fewer applied to 4 or fewer
5 13.30%
6 9.90%
7 7.10% ~84% applied to 7 or fewer
8 to 11 12.60%
11 or more 3.30%

WOW!!! Who was surveyed? 3.30% for 11 or more seems very very very small.

I applied to 15. Only 3 in-state and I’m from California

i applied to 8 schools

Jeez, I don’t know how some of you guys managed to apply to so many schools! I was so overwhelmed during the application process and I only applied to six schools!

^ REcycling essays really saved a lot of time!!!
