I survived by pulling multiple all-nighters, a lot of coffee, and much frustration. That was not fun, I definitely don’t suggest it unless it’s really necessary (i.e. extremely pushy parents who don’t listen to anything their kids say, financial aid, etc.)

11 because of paranoia of
- finances
- being that kid who was rejected to every college

I don’t consider it to be that many (6-8 is what I consider normal). I know of one kid who applied/is applying to 26.

I applied to 18. I was accepted to two of them, both with full scholarships. I’ll be hearing back from a few more this month and then the rest will come in March-April.

The plan’s 12. I’ve applied to 9 already. 4 safeties, 5 matches, 3 reaches.

Oh, I’d also like to add that I survived by cutting off all interaction with people from school unless it was absolutely necessary. As in I had no social life.

6 CA public schools + 10 private schools + 4 private schools (free applications) = 20 schools…
I still have to submit 7 of the private school applications, but they are almost complete.

I felt like I only have a little… but 11 in total.

Some of my friends who are low income are part of a College Preparatory program that gives them all the fee waivers to schools that their heart desires, so many of them are applying to 15+… One girl who is at the program only applied to two, lol. Georgetown and UMass Amherst, and she was rejected at Georgetown. :/

I was also paranoid about the whole “getting rejected everywhere” so I found a few schools that would accept me with 99.9% certainty, and even then, I’m still nervous about their decisions.

7: 2 safeties, 3 reaches, 2 matches

4… A safety, two matches, and a reach early action. I planned on applying to 12 (8 through regular decision), but I got into my #1 choice/reach EA and I’m satisfied :)

Twelve!! 1 safety, 2 matches, 9 reaches.

I know it seems ridiculous that I have 9 reaches and only 2 matches but I really like one of my matches, have a really good chance at getting in, and would go there if I didn’t get into any of my reaches. And my safety’s extremely safe. So I decided to just aim high for the rest of the apps.

21 as of now (including all nine UCs :P)…although I think I might end up dropping two schools because I procrastinated on their applications :’(.

In all I have:

7 reaches
9 matches
5 safeties (already been accepted to 1)

I am very, very paranoid. ^_^;

I applied to 11~

5 reaches
3 matches
3 safeties

6 safeties (accepted at 2 so far)
4 matches (accepted at 1 so far)
5 reaches (deferred at 1)

I’ve applied to 6, and I have 2 to go.

3/4 reaches
3 matches
1/2 safeties

I plan to apply to 13 in total. I’ve submitted 10 now.
3 safeties
2 matches
8 reaches
I know I’m crazy, but I’ve been admitted by 1 safety and 1 match(EA), so why not aim high?
Also, my mom keeps pushing me…

I’m applying to 18 schools, all with a fee waver.
I think I basically have a safety, a few matches, and a bunch of reaches.

10

Safety (3)- WPI, Clark, UConn
Match (3)- Wesleyan, Vassar, Carleton
Reach (4)- Stanford, Brown, MIT, Yale

I had a list of 10 going - one ED, the rest RDs. Fortunately, got accepted ED at Johns Hopkins and didn’t have to do the rest of those
