I too am looking for the link to CT semifinalists, but I did call the NMSC to triple check the cutoff. I needn’t have worried - it was correctly reported at 221.

I’m in Florida and as far as I know, the school has not said a word to my son today. But I finally found a list for Pinellas County on the school board website. So Florida folks, try checking your county school website if your child is in public school; your school website; and your local TV and newspaper websites. Good luck everybody–and yes, my son is officially a semifinalist with a 223.

Hi - I am new to the board, I have been following along, and now that the “official release” has been posted - (with no names by the way) - I wanted to know if anyone has or has seen a listing for NJ??? My son rec’d a letter yesterday, but, was curious to see the rest of the list! Thanks in advance!

Congrats Seniormomx2!! Get in touch with your school’s GC soon and ask them to track down the letter, as it has login information you’ll need to complete the student/parent portion of the application package. If your school is not familiar with the NM process and weren’t expecting/watching for a letter from NMSC, it’s easy for the letter to get lost in the shuffle of the new school year.

Thanks RPC54CT, that’s great to know!

Thank you!!! He got a 233, but i was concerned about the school losing the letter. Yes, I learned my lesson regarding high schools, I know now that I have to be on top of things! My other son goes to another high school and the cap advisor left and they didn’t bother telling anything to the parents! That’s why I started doing research on my own and found this website.

I can’t find the list for Michigan. Does anyone have a list for NMSF of MI?
Many thanks

jlin3513 - hope that helps.

Apparently - it’s just Washtenaw County though…

I just keep googling NMS results, announcements, semifinalist… hoping NJ will pop up… eventually!!!

Does anyone have any sort of link for kentucky? I applied alternatly with SAT so PSAT cut-offs don’t help me much. Thanks!

What about Texas? I have not seen any…in particular Dallas and greater Dallas area schools.

I just called NMSC (847) 866-5100 and asked if my son made it.

Looking for Texas (North Texas included) list also. Would be very thankful for any help with this.

On Google you can create an email alert for any search term. For example: national merit semi finalist 2014 (and your state name) I set an alert and hopeful something will pop up soon.

Strongly offered advice: If you are seeking to know whether or not a student has qualified as a NMSF do not wait for someone to publish a list nor even for your student’s high school to contact you (if they haven’t already). Only a minority of states and regions will have names published and many that are will be published days, weeks, or months from now. Call the NMSC now and ask them directly about your student. They are usually both helpful and efficient in giving you a response. If your student has qualified you will be glad for the extra time timely awareness gives you in filling out the NMF qualifying application.

@Descartez. Totally agree! Absolutely on point! My DD is a semifinalist and has friends in state but out of district who we are almost certain have also qualified. We wanted to see the state list so that we could congratulate them with certainty.

I just called NMSC - they were so nice and I didn’t have to hold at all! They confirmed PA cutoff at 217 and confirmed that my son qualified. She even congratulated me! I knew with my son’s score that he would qualify, but I just wanted to make sure that there were no other problems. The woman advised me to reach out to our HS if I didn’t hear from them soon. I’ll give them a couple of more hours!

Now is there a way to know what the SAT cutoff is to continue in the process?

My son really doesn’t want to take the SAT again. He took it last January and got a 710 Reading, 660 Math, 640 Writing. He wants to go with his ACT (33) instead. (He did get an 800 in the Chemistry SAT II and a 600 in the Math II (which he will retake in a few weeks after learning the concepts this time)).

skipole…For the past number of years (and maybe always, I’m not sure), the required SAT score has been 1960 using the formula M+CR+(Writing Multiple Choice x 10). Someone on CC suggested that possibly the required score would go up because overall scores went up. I’m not so sure about that since the PSAT scores bounce around from year to year but the qualifying SAT score hasn’t changed. Last year, I just gave a quick call to the NMSC office and asked what the qualifying score was and they were happy to tell me. You might give that a try. :-)
