I just got my letter mailed to me today. I'm so excited! It's not my first choice, but I'm going to be taking a closer look at it now. Not to mention, it's good to finally be accepted somewhere. I've been waiting so anxiously since I sent out all my applications, hah.

What state are you from? My son has not heard yet. When did you send your application? Was it a big or small envelope?

congrats! i thought we were supposed to hear back the 15th? hopefully i’ll be getting mine tomorrow!

I’m from mass, and I sent in my application back in late October/ November maybe? And it was in a big envelope and included a folder with a letter and a few sheets.

mike0515 - thanks for the information. Hopefully, my son will hear soon.

Congratulations to you! Where else did you apply? So far my son heard from Scranton, York and Keene.

I also applied to Northeastern, Bentley, Bryant, UMASS Amherst, Drexel… and a few others. As you can see-- Salve was the one that doesn’t really fit. Ha, I just got accepted to Northeastern today too. That’s it so far though.

mike0515 - congratulations on your acceptance to Northeastern. Good luck with your other schools.

My S received a large envelope from Salve today, can’t wait for him to come home to confirm that it is an acceptance.

I just got in too! I’m still waiting to hear from Northeastern… did you apply EA?

Yep, Early Action. I found out online today actually.

finally found out today… i’m in!

Do you know if scholarships are listed in the acceptance letter or sent separately?

Seriously people, research this school. I applied and got in. I did a lot of research and found nothing but bad things about Salve. I encourage you to seek out a thread by maddancermom and reconsider your decision to go to salve.

Everyones experience with a school is different. A perfect fit for one student could be a disaster for another student. Don’t judge a school on another person’s opinion.

i didnt get a scholarship with my letter, so im hoping i’ll get one later

kathleen92 - Thanks for the info. We are hoping for some scholarship $ also.

emster, not sure where u r getting ur info, please share. i did see the post from madracer mom and it is too bad that her daughter had a bad experience, but this can happen to anyone, anywhere. i personally know many people that have attended salve and love it. everytime I mention the name I hear of someone who went there and had a great experience. if u research any college they will all have bad comments, even the top schools. like another person posted you can’t go by other people’s experiences.

My daughter is a sophomore at Salve and is happy with her decision. I have a younger daughter who is a HS senior and won’t even consider Salve, because it is not a good fit for her. I agree with Classy2010 that you can find negative comments on any school if you want to look. It is also more comon for unhappy people to complain than for satified ones to write a review just because. Those who did try and defend their choice with Salve after Maddancermom’s rant were accused of being employed by the school, when in fact they were not. Eventually, sensibility prevailed and the administrator closed that thread. That said, it is so important to visit your top choices so you know what to expect. By all means, take notes of the pros and cons listed, but go see for yourself and I recommend more than once! My older daughter did her homework and therefore was not dissappointed, I hope my younger daughter learns that lesson. Good luck to Classy2010 and the rest of you making this tough decision!

Lizasmom - Do you know is Salve sends out separate letters regarding merit? Does your daughter have enough to do at Salve? Does she go into Providence?

MaryAnnC- When my daughter applied the merit offer came with her EA acceptance, but not sure how they do it now. My daughter has plenty to do at Salve, but maybe not what some would find exciting. She has friends who are in dance and theater, so she always sees their productions, the gallery displays, trips into Newport and just “hanging out”. She loves the mansions and attends any of the special events they have. She rides at a stable nearby (a small group started this year from Salve, and some of the girls had never ridden before), does go to Providence sometimes (she’s not big on clubbing, but the mall is there also), and has taken the train to Boston to visit friends. She’s joined club sports as well as other clubs and that has let her meet kids outside of her dorm and major as well as upperclassmen. Each year there are new clubs or groups that get together by interests (like the riding) some last, some don’t but there’s always something to try. Good luck to you both!

Lizasmom - thanks for the information.
