Guess its time we all start posting daily out here yaar…
So where is everyone eding?

well, im ed-ing to Cuyahoga Community College :D

im like so confused about where to start from…apart from preparing for SATs and all…whats the first thing that i should do? collect recos?? or…what else??
can anyone please help me out…like list it roughly :)

omg im panicking like hell!!
am i already so late for everything???
help me out guys!!!

my queries just correctly matched with capriprincess46…nw c’mon frens could u please help us with the initiation process except for SAT prepn…

cariprincess and hendrix
First step for you would be College List. and the only way to make it work best for you is extensive research (via internet, books, collegeboard, USEF etc). Be realistic and throw in lot more colleges than you would apply. You will have time later on to trim your list. Don’t just get hyped by top ranked colleges only. The hardest colleges to search for international students are safeties.

@hendrix7 and capriprincess46
Apart from sat prepn you both should concentrate on your essays.Thats very very important.And you need to research about colleges and universities(top notches,your match,safeties).And yeah you can do the recos thing too…Guys one very good advice for you “Do research about safeties and wisely choose them.”

yeah here123 is absolutely right.Its very hard to find safeties.Do a lot of research guys…

thankyou so much…
so i should start up with the research…i guess its really difficult…because everytime i sit for this thing…its like i dont know where to start from…
and are the safeties the ones that will surely accept me?

yes capriprincess46 , safeties r the one who will most certainly accept u…but u oughta be careful n choose well.

look into urself, evaluate how u pan out against the colz…its all about find ur match …academics, sat/act, ecas, essays, recos …everything matters…so 1st judge on this n find ur match …its a waste of time if u search colz without knowing wat u r …

I have read these line in these forums many times. "Frankly speaking, there are no safeties for international student seeking significant amount of financial aid in these economic climate. "
Although the motive is not to discourage you, rather its to make everyone aware of the real situation that exists in college admission.

^^^The case is very true as posted above.International students do have very little chances of getting a full ride(or even full tuition) but it’s not that we cannot.Nothing is impossible na :D.Safeties can be found out but it needs a lot lot lot of research.It might seem like a joke but I have almost gone through the websites(or researched) of about odd 1200+ universities and still have very few safeties that too not very sure.
Guys so search and search…

I too go on with Rocker
We do all the research together still even a single safety is not assured so just imagine how hard can it be to find it all by yourself. Its just too hard for safeties.
So be prepared for the real challenge of US admission process.

thank u people…and yes, how can we research into the safeties??..like some kind of basic steps to do that…what is the criterion to consider colleges as safeties???please I would be glad to learn something from you…I’m sure it would be somehow easy going through next step with your words…

I think, u could consider some black universities(historically black ones) in ur safety list…there are some colleges that are really underrated and many people consider them as safeties and I think u shud too do some research over them…dont ask me what are the names…find out the best fit for urself! I dont know what u want to study and where u wanna go so…i cud have listed some had i known abt ur preferences…

actually, i want to major in Physics…and yes, will be considering ECE later on, if possible…so how have Nepalese ended up with Black unis???have many of them attended there???please share if u know…

@hendrix7
Safeties are those which will surely accept you plus with good scholarships and/or low cost of attendance.As far about your major its not a big problem as almost all universities and colleges have that major.to find them you just have too go through each and every college’s website.I guess no other easy options.
