seriously…there is a college named Caribbean college…what are they called the ‘pirates’ …sorry if i offended anyone…just culdn’t resist

There is a college with that name. Its somewhere near Kathmandu International Study Center, Jawlakhel. And they are not called ‘Pirates’ :D

^

lol 10char :p

Everyone seems to be busy with application…Or are they still celebrating The BADA Dashain??? :p

when I said I am Eding at Colgate, a friend of mine said that there is a guy from bnks (2 yrs lost already) who got A in all the subjects in both the year. And he is said to be colgate-maniac. I am hell scared. But I don’t know if its really true either.

@expeliarmus

Dude, don’t just give up because someone from BNKS has all A’s and is a Colgate fanatic. If he were a better student he would have gotten into college the very first year. He would have been wise enough to choose a perfect match for himself. Just getting all A’s doesn’t secure him a place there. I guess you know a lot better than me, but there are several other factors that come into play while considering an application. For example, Colgate accepted candidates mostly have a good composite SAT score, they have excellent essays and most of them also have strong extra curricular experiences. Just because he’s from BNKS and has all A’s doesn’t necessarily mean that he is superior to you. Don’t get obsessed with the names of “BNKS” & “RBS”, just for the heck of it. Last year it was a guy from Universal College who got into Reed not some BNKS/RBS student.
And yeah, it was our Six String, who got into Lafayette and neither is he from any of those two SO CALLED ELITE schools. :stuck_out_tongue: No offence anyway. :D

I gave my sat on october 9, so when’s the result due?? Anyone who’s already given the sat 1 should know this, help, thanxx

^^it’s on oct28…nerves getting higher…

thanks, hendrix 7, yea, all the best to you and who ever gave the sat on oct 28 from my side!

who is there in BNKS who has lost 2 years and a Colgate Maniac?.. Rubbish… There is no such colgate maniac as far as I know … i know all the candidates who are eding from BNKS and their colleges…

people tend to make nonsense “guffs” about BNKS and RBS n then people lai “iwojima” are offensive about these college based on just rumours and nothing else… sorry bro…

By the way, does anyone here know the highest sat score a Nepali student has scored?

There was a guy with 2400…

^^He told he was not offensive :stuck_out_tongue:

Now don’t start a fight on that thing.

^

just saying “no offense” doesn’t mean that the person is not offensive.

guys one serious question…
Since i have consulting many people because what i pursue for these four years is important…
My uncle who actually hates liberal arts college tells this…

“Liberal Arts colleges build you well, they make you a thinker,…you become creative, you are aware of serious issues and you start to speak well. Over all you become a better person.
However, the problem with this is that most liberal arts colleges are situated in rural places far away from the cities and they are not big. Many people dont know it and you will have a tough time finding a job. Barely anyone return Nepal after coming here and you are an all-rounder but do no really excel at one particular thing and people wont give you jobs. You become sad when people throw food and think how much would it mean for the people in Somalia, but there comes a time when you start starving. People(relatives) wont be able to help you much and you start disliking people. Always when it comes to job, first of all the people in state universities are given priority since its famous and big in that state and then the priority is given to the Private Universities.A-Levels is made for the sons and daughters of senators and billionaires who after studying either start some voluntary action or their parents employ them somewhere.Yes, few lucky ones do score well but in what i say applys for the most people.”

how true is this guys…these days most people go for liberal arts…they must have gone acknowledging every aspect, isn’t it? Without raging or being biased have you all given a serious thoughts. I wish to see some matured replies…Even i like the idea of a liberal arts but does it really come in such great cost? Help me please.

???

i like like food part…
I agree that it is a bit difficult to find jobs later on if u attend a LAC…bt seriously what matters is your internal quality…if u can excel in your subject and pass out from a LAC with good grades, i don’t think it will matter so much…on top of that LACs prepare u for grad school…and finally what matters is ur grad school rather than college…(my own 2 cents…:p)

“A-Levels is made for the sons and daughters of senators and billionaires who after studying either start some voluntary action or their parents employ them somewhere”

i ment LAC sorry…not A levels.
