1,006 students selected from a record applicant pool of 13,814 students. The freshman class contains 103 foreign nationals, 70 African-Americans, 107 Mexican-Americans and 50 multiracial students. Texans fill 45 percent of the class.

Approximately 40% of this year’s students had a perfect 4.0 GPA or higher in high school, and another 30% had only one B. More than 90% of this year’s incoming freshmen were ranked in the top 10% of their high school class.

This does not bode well for 2016 hopefuls. The acceptance rate is going to plummet now that they’re factoring a higher yield & that there is less space because of the large class of '15.

Many have alleged, and it is certainly plausible, that Rice does appear to discriminate somewhat against Texans to achieve the 55/45 (out-of-state/in-state) ratio. Does anyone know where there are statistics for the admission rate and yield for in-state students?
