Please post if you are attending Marymount Manhattan College
in the fall of 2011.
D- accepted into the BFA acting program and excited to attend.

hi maggie, if you have any questions or your D wants someone to chat with about the school let me know!

hi bcb - I just sent you a pm and realized we have written before.
My D missed the admitted students day, I hope she has another opportunity
to meet and greet before the fall.

As a transfer, do you live in the dorms on 55th street?

Any additional information you could provide would be great. Maggie

maggie3 - My D is finishing up her freshman year at MMC and lives in the 55th Street dorms. Her apartment has two bedrooms with 6 girls. D is in the larger bedroom with 4 girls and the smaller one has 2 girls. There is not any living room in the apartment, but a small kitchen with a fullsize refrigerator, sink and microwave (no oven). Also a kitchen table with 4 chairs. Each of the bedrooms has the bed, a desk, a four drawer dresser and a small closet for each girl. Some of the beds are lofted and some are bunkbeds. There is a bathroom shared by the six girls, plus an extra bathroom sink with mirror outside the bathroom.

Let me know if I can answer any questions you have and if I don’t know I can ask my D.

showmom - Thanks for your response and information. I guess my first investment will be a good alarm clock! Hopefully, my d will find it easy to get from 55th street to 71st street.

Did your D choose a roomie or did they just assign someone?

Thanks :)

maggie3 - my D did not choose her roommates, but it ended up one of the girls was from SoCal and was the only person at the school D knew. The walk to class takes about 20 minutes. Once it gets colder most kids take the subway or bus. I think you catch the subway at 57th street and get off at Hunter College which is at 68th.

Since my D is in MT she does not go to school until after dance class which is on the upper westside. She takes a bus up there each morning (5 days a week) and dances from 9-10:30. Since D uses the subway and bus system so much I buy her the unlimited metrocard for $104 a month.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks showmom for the information :)

My name is Allison- I live in Westchester, NY but im going to be living in the dorms next year. See you all at the end of August!

Allison - where are you in Westchester? We live in the Rye/Mamaroneck area.
Did you hear what floor and who your room mate is?

What is will you be majoring in?

Good Luck to you :)
