What is this about calling? If you don’t answer, do they leave you a message? Did they do this last year?

Oh wow! This is stressing me out. I’m going crazy enough as it is waiting for next Thursday but now that the actual date (at which the letter is delivered) is up in the air. It’s just about too much. So calling? Whatt?

Usually a student calls to congratulate you on your acceptance and answer any questions. Traditionally, its been done where they call by region, so the letter is expected to arrive before your phone call. However, occasionally someone gets the call before their letter.

Regarding the letters they send out… If not accepted EA (and forwarded to RD, as I don’t think they flat out reject anybody in EA?), do you still get a letter informing you of this? Or are they only acceptance letters?

no… they send you letters if you get deferred to… no matter what you should still get a letter :D

I think I might just give up studying for finals if I get in to Georgetown…horrible for my RD schools, BUT it just sounds so nice right now…

Oh, this sounds totally creepy, but I stalked your posts, and we’re applying to practically the same schools (UPenn, Yale, JHU) and have similar extracurriculars… weird

This. does. not. feel. good.

Hi everyone! I am new to this thread; this thread is quite interesting! I am freaking out just as much as all of you!! And this phone calling business?! I have never even heard of it! Just one more thing for me to be stressed about I guess. AHHH. I cannot wait until the 15th! Although I live very far from DC, so I might have to wait longer…uggghhh

hahahaha @eb9811: and we have almost the exact number of posts on college confidential! :)

@cuddlemcozy

hah… just need 7 more…

hmm…one down, 6 to go… :)

eb9811, I feel the exact same way. If I get accepted into GU I will probably be a lot more relaxed when it comes to studying for finals and stuff. I know it is terrible of me, but I just can’t help but feel it! Also, if I get accepted in Georgetown next week I will probably apply to fewer other schools. Wow, I would just love to get accepted. My mind is just gonna be a wreck until I get my letter! Best of luck to everyone =)

@reallyconfused12: same! if i get into georgetown, i’m only applying to like 3 more schools :D

I have an exam the day after we get decisions. I’ll probably do terrible regardless, if I get in I’ll be so happy I won’t study and if I don’t get in I’ll be so sad I won’t study.

I just realized that Georgetown never received my first trimester grades. I thought that my school sent them automatically but apparently they don’t. Did everyone else send fall grades? Is that a requirement? I’m so mad at my school right now.

I don’t think fall grades matter. For early action they say they only look at 9-11 grades. Personally, I only sent a transcript and that doesn’t include any senior year grades. That’s what mid-year reports are for, so don’t worry. :)

i’m so nervous! Do you guys think NY area will receive the notification for EA on Monday?

@ms2012 I really hope so! My mail is delayed by a few days, so i won’t get it until the 18-20 :(

Feel free to post stats prior to results. Good luck everyone!

I say this not freak anyone out, but it happens every year. There is a good chance if you live close by you may have your decision by tomorrow. So get ready for people to start posting. Good luck!

i called to office of undergraduate admissions today and the man who picked up (probs just a student) said he BELIEVES letters have already been mailed.
