Subject tests really aren’t a big deal.

which ones are you taking?

I don’t get why Georgetown asks for 3 subject test scores yet doesn’t even care about your AP scores…

I have 4 because I hate myself, but I only sent 3 to Georgetown because one was Spanish with listening so I had to take it in November.

I didn’t send any to Georgetown. I’m doing 3 in December AND the ACT. Kill me now.

I am taking math level 2.

I didn’t have any for EA either. But I took Spanish in November and I’m taking world history in December. I know they ask for 3, but is 2 ok? It’s better than nothing, right? It’s not like all or nothing?

Yes, two is better than nothing. No, it’s not as good as three. The three subject tests are “highly recommended.” If you do very well on two and the SAT/ACT, you’ll probably be all right. But if you happen to be competing with someone who took three and did well on three, that could put you at a disadvantage.

Taking SAT IIs the weekend after APs…great decision. USH and Chem were a breeze.

thefan-- What did you score on your APs and Subject Tests respectively?

I did that sophomore year after AP US, but June, not May. I also took both maths in that sitting, so I had 3 taken care of right off the bat. I swear I’m getting dumber over time, because I got 2 790’s and a 780 and my scores just get worse over time. I got a 5 on the AP.

Djz–What have you taken since then that was worse? (I’m trying to stimulate discussion :))

I went from 2360/2400 on my first 3 sat 2s, then 235/240 psat, then 2250/2400 sat, then 2110/2400 sat but I hadn’t yet recovered from my oral surgery earlier that week, then 730/800 sat 2.

2360?? And you took it again? smh lol And you took 4 SAT2s so anything after the first 3 was icing on the cake.

the 2360= 790 us history, 790 math 2, 780 math 1, not sat 1, i’m not messed up in the head. I took a 4th because the 2 maths seemed redundant and I am not pursuing anything math related. The first 3 were at the end of sophomore year, the last was a few weeks ago, Spanish with listening.

My reading comprehension on these forums would translate to about a 400 on the SAT lol Nice. How did you do on the Spanish? I took it without listening in October.

I’m content with it. I’m in AP this year and I like languages and they are more relevant to what I plan on studying. Will definitely send it to Gtown if I get deferred. I think the most impressive for me was math 2 because, while it was only like 86th percentile, I hadn’t even finished trig when I took it.

I am taking math 2 this Saturday. Wish me luck. I got 800 in Spanish… I’ve been studying Spanish for over a year and a half every single day. Now on to Arabic for the new year.

good luck! math 2 isn’t really that hard… you can skip like 5 questions and still get an 800!

790 Spanish w/ listening, SO annoyed lol. Just one question away from the precious 800.
