Back to scores, if we want to call our state office, who would we call? This is my first rodeo.
There is no “state office” and cut off information will not be made publicly available until 9/9, the press release day. You may get info early from your school and helpful homeschoolers.
Do we also receive letters at home?
@crimsonwarrior no letters for parents unless you’re a homeschooling parent (and thus, the principal). Info will come from schools … unless enough people post here as they’re notified through their schools, so we can figure out state cutoffs. Then, you might know even if your school hasn’t told you yet.
Someone mentioned a few days ago that they spoke with NM Corp and they reported letters went out this past Tuesday, 8/25. Fingers crossed at least one homeschool family will get a letter by today!
Yes. I was reading last year’s thread and noticed when letters were mailed last year, so I called to see when they went out this year and they told me Tuesday. They went out on the last Tuesday in August last year too.
Last year Labor Day fell on the following Monday so the first notifications started rolling in the next day- September 2 since schools were closed on the first and no mail delivery on the first.
Since Labor Day is later this year, I am hoping the big wave of notifications start rolling in on Monday even if we do not hear anything today.
So far over on Well Trained Mind the responses have been from parents of former commended students or finalists describing the process. No one posting to say that they are expecting a letter yet.
I’m pretty sure my dd has a shot with a 224 in NY - my question is, once it is made public can we expect colleges to pursue her? Or will we only know what type of scholarships will be offered by schools she applies to?
213 is enough in Michigan. We just got our letter (we homeschool.)
@WRUAustin One homeschooler @angelami mentioned 213 was good enough for Michigan. Was this expected with your research? thanks
@angelami Did your report say what the cutoff level was for Michigan? thanks
Alright folks - this is getting real.
Any volunteers interested in maintaining the standard as we progress matrix?
Btw, MI has been around 210 for a couple of years and lower before and so i don’t expect 213 to be the cutoff.
Post #401 has the Michigan estimate. It came out to be 209.4. Like @texaspg said, the score is likely to be lower than 213.
Glad to see the letters being delivered.
Praying that 212 makes it in FL!!!
if anyone has florida information please post, got a 211

Just thinking of those in the class of 2017 and the new test. I wonder if it will be more or less stressful without any historical data?

Commended (national cutoff) = 202?
@3scoutsmom Class of 2017 kibitzer here. I’m going with it will be “more stressful without historical data”. If we could use my DS17’s sophomore score, I would already be 98% sure of the outcome. Good luck to all of Class of 2016 represented here!
@texaspg isn’t commended 202?
