Class of 2017 (From Nepal) - Official Discussion Thread. . .

@12hulk345: I totally agree with you.

I am at the lap of the hills getting some salubrious air.I am following CC through mobile,but I could not avert myself from this particular talk.

I know a senior of mine who is attending colby swayer paying 14k per year.Taking BNKS website as reference, 2 student last year and 4 student the year before attended caldwell.(no. May not be precise)If living cost is 16k for this year, it should have above 10k+ for last 2 years as well. So, it is generalization to state that you will not get visa if you are asked to pay more than 10k.However,it is always safe with 4 figures.

Today is THE day. I will be a Midd-Kidd by tonight.

There are many Nepalese attending Caldwell each year. Full tuition is the highest Caldwell provides and the student pays his/her own living expenses, which always exceeds 14k. That was the reason I wanted to inquire whether any student with Caldwell or Colby Sawyer I-2o has been rejected a visa. Do you know anyone personally?

@plagued: I too hoped so… I haven’t been through all that but I have talked to people who have been…
But the chances automatically slim out when you have to pay more ( especially 10K + ) .
Even calling for a VISA is not cheaper ( NRS 30000 + , I guess) …So , I don’t know what I will do …

@ batuli : That sounds relieving. But obviously, the students’ sponsors must have been very strong, financially.

@Nepalimussa: All I can say is all the best…

@ everyone:
Has anyone applied to Ramapo college of new jersey?
If you have, how did you send the SAT scores?
They are not considering my score reports approved by my counselors…
Please help…

Deferred…

A senior of mine was rejected of visa with 10k I20,but he was eventually provided with visa after college provided him the extra grant.Final I 20 was of 7k. Not the colby swayer or caldwell case though.

44 days before you become a mid kid then.BOL

@12hulk345
Doesn’t the story “My father has a modest salary but my grandfather was rich in village, and that explains our bank balance” work?

@plagued
I really don’t know about that. But one thing I know for sure, if you are showing that you have property worth of 2 crores ( or more) and your sponsor is a mere lower secondary teacher ( just an example) or a general salesman, then it is more likely to get suspected and the chances get trimmed out.
whatever, 10K + is never safe ( for a middle class nepali family). The fingers always need to be crossed.

so who has applied to caldwell?

^ read the last 10 posts, we were discussing about Caldwell College only…

@shakya: what was your family contribution? Aren’t you attending Caldwell? Is it true that many are rejected visa with a Caldwell I-20?
