Class of 2017: New or Old SAT?

I know this is a widely-discussed topic, but I've received extremely ambiguous responses to this question. When talking to a former MIT admissions officer, I was told to take the new SAT in March 2016, which would be my junior year (Class of 2017). However, many online forums stress the fact that the Class of 2017 should take the old SAT in the fall of their junior year. I feel like by the time CB releases any of the new SAT prep stuff, I'll be too busy/have too little time to study for it. I have absolutely no idea how I will perform on the new SAT, and I know I will do well on the old one. I just don't want any colleges to think, "oh, she just memorized a bunch of sat tips for the old sat and didn't take the risk to show her potential on the new sat" or something along the lines of that.
Do you think colleges will have a preference: old, new, or both?

I was planning to take 2 old and 1 new, but that depends on my scores on the first two. I don’t want to get a bad score on my first try, and then have the new SAT be a disaster.

Yea, that’s what I’m planning on doing too. I just don’t want to be a “guinea pig” for the new SAT, but at least I can guess w/o penalties xD

I’m also class of 2017 (YAAAYY). If you’re planning on taking the old SAT’s, have you already begun to study?
