I got into BU with a Dean’s Scholarship. But, also did not get any FA, so it will be a difficult decision. It seems that the aid and scholarships at school this year have been reduced at many if not all schools. I have 2 older siblings- one grad. from Harvard another at a state school, but both were offered much more money all the way around only 2 and 4 years ago. I have heard so many stories of really smart kids not getting in schools, or not getting the money they expected. For the person who didn’t understand the money vs. the honor’s college. You had to have everything in by 12/1 to get considered for ANY scholarships. This was a new change for BU this year. Also, the honor’s college while also looks for “smart” kids also takes many factors into consideration, in trying to make in diverse in many respects. GOOD LUCK to everyone wherever you end up- it will all work out.

I got in but I don’t see a scholarship offer anywhere… I was wondering if someone could post where it says their scholarship?

the scholarship offer should be under “Decisions.” under either Merit Aid or Financial Aid should indicate how much you received.

I also was accepted, but, like some of the posters here, no scholarship. An okay amount of financial aid, but if I do end up attending BU, I’ll probably be in the 6-figure digits of debt after graduation. x_x

@whoknows2013 - we live in NY and my D did get accepted, yay!

@ mrleftovers - Hi. I got waitlisted as well, and at the moment, i am considering getting in contact with the Admissions office and do my best to sway their decision. You said your friends did this same thing and they were admitted. Could you tell me some of the things they said to persuade the Admissions office to accept them?

@ CollegeBoundCA - yo. holla at me with that College of Engineering acceptance! i got waitlisted and BU is one of my top choices

I believe if you just continue to show interest in the school (perhaps writing an essay or sending additional letters of rec), I would want them to know that BU is my first choice. But be aware that you probably will not get a very healthy FA package.

i still don’t know if I got in! i got an email yesterday saying that my decision was posted, but when I log on to the portal, there’s no decision there i’m so confused!

@mlo5102: Did you check the sidebar on the portal? I think there should be something that says “admissions decision” or the like there.

@moshiyoshi13 yeah all it says on the sidebar is application status and then when i click that, nothing happens and another little tab comes down and that little bar says financial assistance status. when i click financial assistance status it says “Unfortunately, we do not currently have an application for financial aid matching your identification number. Please contact the Office of Financial Assistance by telephone or e-mail.”
does this mean im rejected? lol ahhh

Accepted to COM!
any other BU2017’s on twitter feel free to follow, can’t wait to meet you guys!
@isaa_aze

Congrats to all! Did anybody get a follow up email?

@mlo5102 That’s weird… Now I’m wondering if the email was just a standard thing sent out to all applicants at the same time, regardless of whether the decision had actually been made or not? I would wait another day or two before contacting them. Best of luck to you!

@moshiyoshi13 yeah i know…oh well. i guess i’ll just have to wait for the letter to come in the mail then. thanks for your help!

Call them tomorrow

D accepted!! BUT no scholarship money. Every other school she applied to has given her money. NEastern accepted her into Honors Program with a full ride! Oh well, the important thing is she got in.

I got accepted with NO scholarship money! I also got a full tuition scholarship to Northeastern as a University Scholar and have been accepted to several top 25 schools. The only reason I applied to BU was because I thought I could get money as a National Achievement Finalist (although I actually did love the school when I went to visit). Don’t feel bad if you didn’t get money. I have friends who got likely letters from Princeton who didn’t get scholarship money here. Not sure what’s going on with BU this year…

Did you apply by the December 1st scholarship deadline? Just wondering, since I almost missed that.

Just wondering . . . Did anyone get a $20,000, renewable, Boston University Presidential Scholarship for being a National Achievement Scholar?
