Requested classes so far are:
AP English Language
AP Chemistry
^ (2 period class)
AP Statistics
AP United States History
AP Environmental Science
Accelerated Pre-Calc A
Computer Science Data Structures (post AP Computer Science)
I hope to major in computer science and I am very good at math.
Should I change anything?
Do you have room for a language? Those always look good for colleges.
That looks really good! Have you already taken normal Chem or are you just jumping to AP?
My potential schedule is:
H English 11
APUSH
H Pre Calc
Jazz Band
AP Psychology
Concert Band
Honors Physics
Honors Spanish IV
Now, I could take AP Physics, but I’m not sure if I’d be prepared for it, having never taken Honors Physics
@singingwriting My school doesn’t offer world language.
@MPC6789 I’m taking Honors Chemistry right now. AP Phych seems really fun. Good luck!
@super5000ify You could always try and take it online if money is not an issue.
Also my schedule for Junior year as of right now is
AP BC calc
APULL
APUSH
AP Pysch
Girls only gym
Journalism
and I have one open credit right now.
@singingwriting what’s APULL?
I think if you can handle it you should go for it. Do you do sports?
I think if you can handle it you should go for it. Do you do sports?
@awesomepolyglot AP United States Literature and Language
@singingwriting what is that? is it a mix of ap lang and ap lit?
@singingwriting Is it bad that I thought APULL was a fake class and a pun when combined with APUSH?
@Phantomlink I think so, I’m not 100% sure though.
@iflycuzican Not at all! Now that I think about it it’s pretty funny.
too early
Have you reached he 4th level of a foreign language?
Considering the rest of your schedule, Ap stats and apes are there as fillers. Is there a reason you’re taking them? Otherwise it looks like the “everything but the kitchen sink” approach to ap that colleges dislike. As Stanford said, it’s not a game of who has the most aps wins.
What about 2d/3d art, multimedia applications, etc?
@Phantomlink Yeah that’s what I’m thinking.
IS your school in the US?
@MYOS1634 Stats will be important for computer science, and es will most likely be replaced with a lunch. And yes, my school is in the U.S.
Actually high school stats won’t be of use for computer science. You want college stats - preferably, the calculus-based kind. AP Stats is a class for students who can’t/won’t take calculus and need a math, although it can be a complement for others. But statistics is better taken in college, because it’s one class employers really like to see on your list of relevant classes (and whatever classes you took in HS is of zero interest to employers.)
I think it looks good
I just finished making my schedule for next year last week:
AP English
AP US History
College Psychology
College Algebra & Trig
AP Biology
AP Environmental Science
College Spanish 4
Health
Your schedule looks good, just IMO high school stats isn’t necessary and depending on the college you’re looking at you might need more foreign language
My junior year will be competley at a local university and my planned schedule is:
Fall quarter:
Multivariable calc
General Chem 1
Calc based general physics 1
Winter Quarter:
physics 2
Linear Algebra
College composition (English)
Spring Quarter:
Physics 3
US history
Spanish 3 (at least that’s what it translates to for hs)
