Class of 2019 Boston College Early Action

Yea I sent mine in and they showed up on agora @rainydayzzzz‌

I don’t believe so, my S emailed his admissions counselor with his first marking period grades, and they were uploaded to the common app by his counselor, but nothing different showed on the portal, and no courtesy of response from the counselor saying they received them. Even though they don’t require them, if they receive them prior to reviewing the application it should give them more insight into the academic progress of the student and should be considered.

@wkxcindy how do you know about acceptances yet?!

@bchopeful03 no I’m sorry to confuse you. It’s just a group for prospective students

Just FYI, DevlinHall tweeted this today: ONE WEEK UNTIL #BC2019 DECISIONS ARE MAILED! This really is the most wonderful time of the year!

Does anyone know when deferrals are supposed to be sent? Also, are they sent by email?

@rkjy12‌ All decisions are mailed the same time. No emails, no matter what decision; everything is snail mail

Would it be fair to say that only the people living close to Boston will get their decisions before the end of the weekend (Saturday)? Since no mail comes on Sunday, I imagine that anyone living outside of the general New England area would find out no earlier than Monday (I’m from Ohio so I assume I’ll be in that group). But maybe I’m wrong!

Also, is there any idea as to when the portal decision will be shown? Since I’ll probably have to wait at least three days after the 19th to get my mailed decision, I’m really hoping that maybe I could find out a little earlier through the portal. Thanks!

Is there any possibility at all that decisions will be mailed before the 19th? I know they tweeted that it would be the 19th but they also said that they would try to get them out earlier if possible, and in the past they’ve mailed the Monday of the last week before Christmas break.

@bk1yn97sr‌ I hope so! I would love to know this week- what a great surprise in the midst of pre-break testing:)

@ocomea15 that’s quite annoying for internationals :stuck_out_tongue: Are you sure we won’t be getting any notifications apart from the mails? For example, a portal update?

good god, I’m nervous.

@michan‌ internationals will be notified of an admissions decision via email.

When do the decisions get posted in the portal if at all? I’m leaving the country and wont be able to check the mail… any way I can find out over the internet instead of having to wait until I come back?

Does anyone know what size envelopes decisions come in? Like does an acceptance decision come in a big envelope and rejection/deferral come in regular size envelope?

@anniemalfarm thank you :)

@ineversleep‌- acceptance letters come in a large envelope with other information about paying your tuition and orientation. A small envelope is a rejection letter or a deferral. In the past, the portal will change approximately 3-4 days after letters were mailed out. Good luck!!!

@jspangmvc‌- usually the portal will show changes approximately 3-4 days after letters were mailed out. If your portal has an F or a P tab, this will allow you to pay your deposit. Obviously if you are able to pay a deposit, you were accepted. Good luck!!!

When are people notified about the presidential scholarship?
