Class of 2019 Rejections, Denials etc.

Yes at Arizona State, waitlisted at Arizona, waiting to hear from Webster.

No from BW for MT, but a yes from BW’s conservatory of music, in vocal performance/opera

Haha @HannahMTheatre‌ I totally lied about BU! It’s tomorrow. For some reason I thought today was the 21st. Ahhhh. No expectations here either! I had a fabulous audition experience and that’s what counts.

BU decisions out.

No from Chapman, which really does surprise me. But a yes from Pepperdine for Theater and Music track for Spring 2016, wait listed for fall, and an acceptance for BA Acting for fall. (No BFA program all auditioned BAs). All very weird, Chapman audition went amazing, Pepperdine, not so much… No big deal. She seems very happy.

No from UCLA here. No surprise, she said she had a bad audition.
Yes from Chapman Acting for film and screen (not really sure what they call it).

Just got the Financial Aid package from Point Park. On it there is an Artistic Achievement Award. Does that mean my D got in to the MT program? We haven’t heard from them.

Does 2 rejections in one day win me a prize???

@4461flmom: I know of another boy that received his PPU financial aid folder with an artistic award listed on it, but did not receive an acceptance letter. When he called admissions, they could not give him any information except that they wouldn’t give artistic $ to someone not admitted. My daughter was admitted and got the same financial aid paperwork. I’d say things are looking good for your D!

@cariauth‌, Thank you so much for your response! As you all know by experience, it has been a long hard emotional journey! Throw in a bully and sick grandparents that we had to move during all of this and we have an emotional trifecta! It is our first “yes” to a school she actually applied to and that didn’t just offer her a spot because they saw her perform at a convention. And it was one of her top choices! Insert happy dance here! Can’t wait until Monday when I can call Joe McGoldrick to make it official. Hoping and praying for all of the rest of you to have this same feeling in the weeks to come.

Congrats @4461flmom! So happy for you and yours!

@4461flmom best news I’ve heard all day! Congrats!

For anyone who auditioned on campus at point park, what was the experience like? Feel free to reply in a message! And congrats to those acceptances.

I also heard from others that the letters from PPU were confusing. The only way to know for sure is to call the theatre admission office to get clarification. It could be because of the changes in the BA to BFA. Just a guess on my part. Either way, congrats on any good news!

No from Belmont for MT

Curious if someone could post about Western Carolina auditions. I read several of you were attending. Hope it went well.

Are you looking for an audition experience, mtmom2014? If so…it was very relaxed. For their MT audition you walk into their dance studio area where you have a quick question and answer session, then you warm up vocally, then while everyone is auditioning individually (songs and monologue), you wait in the dance studio area and watch clips from their shows and ask any questions you need to. The environment is very chill and laid-back. Once everyone has done their monologue and songs for the panel (about 10 people give or take a few), you get ready for the dance call. First you do some across the floor exercises to warm up and then learn a short combination. It’s very fun and not too difficult. A lot of chances to show off skills and acting abilities. The dance teacher is PHENOMENAL. Great teacher and it definitely shows – we saw 42nd Street after the audition and were WOWED. The dancing and singing were absolutely incredible. It was one of my favorite audition experiences. To anyone going out for WCU’s audition soon: break a leg!

Thanks, I am curious how it compares to other experiences. It doesn’t get much play on CC and we liked it very much last year when my D was auditioning. She chose another program, but I am playing “what if” still. The students seemed very warm.

Well it’s a no from TCU . Oh well, too expensive anyway! The D was fine with it since it wasn’t in her top 5. Moving on! Still waiting on Webster.

Has anyone else not heard from TCU after today?
