What majors r u guys all applying to btw? I am applying for comp sci BS

Changed my computer settings and got my decisions!
Accepted into Honors College and $12k per year!
GPA: 3.7
ACT: 29
Many really good ECs including 2 time State Officer in TSA, Region officer FBLA, internship with a nonprofit overseas
Wrote really good honors essay in my opinion

How did u guys see it already? I already changed my time, and it did not say anything. It said “Application is under review”

Sometimes large scholarships are offered to offset the cost of out of state tuition.

Thank you - it worked!

I got in but not sure if in Honors college. Where do you find that information? Within decision letter?

Hey guys! I don’t want to change the date of my computer, so has anyone heard what time the decisions will come out tomorrow? I know the email said they would let us know, but I was wondering if anyone had an idea!

Ecstatic right now! Accepted to GMU for Economics!

Just got my decision… I was accepted to Honors College with $48,000 scholarship! So excited!

UW GPA: 4.0
SAT: 1310
Over 35 college credits (so far) from Dual Enrollment.
Many extracurricular activities - especially political.
From Miami, Florida

I’m currently majoring in Political Science through Dual Enrollment.
However, I’m switching to Legal Studies.

Looking forward to possibly studying with you guys next year!

FutureNoVAHoakie yes, it’s in the acceptance letter. Second or third paragraph, I believe.

I meant 3.95 not 2.95

i found out in the decision letter

Congrats to everyone who was accepted!!!

Where are you all guys from? I’m from Florida.

Hey guys! I was just accepted to the honors college at George Mason with a $56,000 scholarship. I go to an IB school in Texas, founded the debate club, went to American Legion’s Texas Girls State, participated in William and Mary’s pre-college program and got 1380 on my SAT. I’m so excited!!

You noticed all the large scholarships are for the out of state students? It is to make it more affordable and inline with instate tuition costs. Daughter is a senior engineering major that will be graduating in May 2018. She is also part of the Honors College.

I applied test optional to there nursing program with a 3.5 gpa plenty of extra curricular activities and lost if involvemnet in my local community. I also took a cna class last year and became certified which I also think helped.

Hello! Just found out I am accepted as a Comp Sci major and in the Honors College

In-state, NOVA region, Asian female, ACT no writing 30, Took/Taking 10 AP classes total (including senior yr). 4.17 weighted GPA.

ECs:

  • Marching Band (percussion captain)
  • Orchestra (1st chair cellist)
  • Tri M Honor Society (Secretary, then VP)
  • Programming club (Secretary)
  • Literature and Arts Magazine
  • Led/arranged music for frequent ensembles
  • National Honor Society
  • Math Honor Society
  • Tutoring Program at Elementary schools
  • Science Olympiad
  • Tae Kwon Do (Assistant Instructor)
  • Job doing repairs at a Violin Shop

I was super worried about my C+ in AP Chem, and my junior yr didn’t follow the “upward trend” as I took a lot of APs and got B+s on a few. Honestly I am surprised I made it into the Honors College! I guess the recs and essays really do make a great impact!

Congrats to everyone else!!

My DS got accepted today. He’s in-state and he got into Honors College. But he didn’t see any merit scholarship in the portal. Does that mean he didn’t get one? Or do instaters get merit scholarships in the coming days? Or mid-February? Anyone know?

Also, if he waits until mid-February to accept, might he lose his spot?

Everyone gets into the Honors College?

No, everyone does not get into the honors college. For those who get it, it is a plus because they get priority class registration and the honors classes are small. (about 30 students) The honors college gives the small school feel and personal attention in a big public school. Daughter never had a problem getting her classes and she was premed/engineering.
