Class of 2023 MT Artistic Acceptance Notifications: How/When/Where

You know who had a good rejection letter? Temple. Maybe because we only did a walk-in and weren’t too invested, but It was short, clear, and not condescending. In fact, I’ll copy and paste:

Thank you for auditioning for Temple Musical Theater at Chicago Unifieds. We enjoyed meeting you and seeing your work. Unfortunately, we do not have a position to offer you in the BFA - Musical Theater program.

We wish you the very best in your future endeavors and in your undergraduate education.
Thank you for sharing your time and talent with us.
Sincerely,
Temple Musical Theater

@ZukAndSowash very misleading. excitement and than they pop your balloon. we received the same.
cruel and unusual punishment.

@NewToThis13 D got the same email this past Friday.

@“boola boola” Our Rider moved to Complete Ready for Review in December - still waiting… Did receive a letter saying still in the mix but won’t hear until the end.

Well, after all, S just found out he is admitted to Rider for MT BFA! Notice via portal only.

Phone call from Oklahoma today. BFA MT.

@MI3rdClosingAct My D got acceptance today for MT at Western MI, I would love to hear your perception on the program. My D is strong dancer.

More good news .,. S just opened the mail and had acceptances from Millikin and UArts, both for MT BFA. It was a good day for sure. All the best to everyone as things seem to be heating up!

Has anyone heard from Oklahoma City after Jan/Feb audition?

@mammadubs Congrats to your D! Many MTP majors pick up a dance minor , as it is manageable with the dance requirements that are required for the MTP major. All dance styles are able to be taken it just depends on your work/class load. If she wants extra dance, students always have the opportunity to assistant choreography shows and productions by applying. I will PM you should your/your daughter have any additional questions. Also, read the Western Michigan thread…@Emsdad has great information regarding the school and program.

@Anybodyhaveamap No, And I’m thinking it’s about time. At the info session, the director said 2-3 weeks. We’re pushing that now. Hope to hear soon. What a great program!

@“boola boola” Students, faculty, and facilities were all so impressive. Those practice rooms, swoon.

So my son’s only acceptance so far is Rider. Now he says Rider is at the bottom of his list. I think he’s channeling his inner Groucho Marx and doesn’t want to go to any school that would have him as a student. ?

Awww @TexasMTDad ! Too funny but I am sure He’ll have options and one of them will be tops on his list… Eventually!

@TexasMTDad Rider seems pretty awesome. Those kids can dance!

@Anybodyhaveamap Absolutely world class facilities. And the students an teachers? Amazing. Everyone we met could not have been more helpful and genuinely enthusiastic. Now that would be a great place to land!

@anybodyhaveamap My D auditioned last year the first weekend of February for OCU and did not receive her acceptance until the first week of March. They said 2-3 weeks then too.

Kind of chuckling at the Montclair rejection letter comments. My D’s year, they emailed the rejection. To everyone they were rejecting. Without BCC’ing it. D knew several of the other rejects’ emails because they shared the same coach, so that was…interesting.

@txmtdad Rider is a great program and your son should be excited! The dance aspect of the program is extremely strong in comparison to many other programs, and this is what drew my daughter to it initially. When we toured the campus she really liked what we saw, and the town if very cute too. Close enough to NYC to get working professionals in for workshops, which they do every Monday (from my understanding). My daughter was very happy to receive her acceptance to Rider earlier this week and I hope your son will come around. Have you guys seen it in person yet or does he just not like it on paper?

Oh, I wasn’t saying that to diss on Rider’s program, I know it’s great, as does he. I was more trying to add some levity at my son’s expense. And really more SMH at his reverse take on the bird in hand and all that.
