Class of 2023 MT Artistic Acceptance Notifications: How/When/Where

S got an email from Viterbo today to. A yes (kind of) to BFA Acting. MT was his preference.

Wait, I thought there was no mail today?

@boola boola I believe she received an email… but maybe she checked the portal? We have not gotten a package - but we haven’t had mail in a few days since today is a Holiday and yesterday was a Sunday. Hoping for package with full financial aid details soon!

@Anybodyhaveamap he may have gotten it on Saturday or earlier. He was in Michigan this past weekend for auditions, so he may not have physically gotten the letter until today. All I know was that he texted me a picture of the letter (which was paper). He lives with his mom, so I don’t always get all of the details.

@TexasMTDad, oh good. I wanted to forget about the mailman for another day.

Congratulations to @El-Cee’s D, @Kristiern1’s S and @typhanileigh’s D !!! SO happy for you all!

Thank you @CaMom13, so sweet of you. Congrats to all with good news and hang in there to all who are still waiting!

D toured Ohio U today. They said notifications are rolling and should start going out this week.

@afterp89
What were your impressions if you don’t mind?
My D did a walk-in for Ohio at NYC unifieds.

D accepted to Rider - no email notification - checked portal today! Auditioned at Rider on February 9th.

@“boola boola” sounds like Rider has been notifying via portal update and then letter/pkg.

Ithaca’s doing some notifications by email, got a “no” today. No harm no foul.

Thank you @CanaDad for the heads up.

@DramaLlama18 Thanks for the update! He went to “Complete ready for review” on Friday. Still the same this morning.

@NYart15 Sorry just seeing this - drove back from Ohio U last night. It’s a big college campus with the accompanying positives and negatives. D really liked Alan and the other faculty she met and the program is intriguing - mandatory history of rock music, mandatory hip hop dance. He says he’s building a program for 2030 Broadway, not 1990. Facilities for theatre are older but they’re hoping for new ones soon (I would doubt it would be something my D would see). Dance and music facilities are newer. Professional equity company connected with the school moved back to Athens this year, so opportunities to earn equity points. Mandatory film acting class and flexibility to get a minor or certificate or maybe a double major if you bring in enough AP or other credits. Biggest thing he’s touting is multi faceted artists - not jus act/sing/dance but additional skills like instrumental musicianship or tech skills or management or marketing, etc.

for those who auditioned for rider at chicago unifieds and got accepted through the portal, where on the site do you see it? auditioned 2/6 and haven’t heard anything…

@afterp89 Thank you! That’s a lot of great information. That actually checks a lot of boxes for us. If my D is lucky enough to get accepted, we’ll definitely give it a closer look.

No from Montclair. Head’s up for those waiting. Even though my son was already accepted academically (i.e. we KNEW this already!). The update letter begins with a bold faced “Congratulations!” And then in the second paragraph it says, to paraphrase: oh…but not to musical theatre…but hey…we’ve got some other great programs that your son who has only dreamed of musical theatre for his entire life might like “Arts, Culture and Design.” Not feeling too bad about this one actually, but do want to warn all of you who are waiting. And I’m keeping my fingers crossed that others get a more palatable 2nd paragraph!!!

Oh…and before you ask…email came that said “update to your applicant status page.” The letter is viewable from there.

@ZukandSowash, ugh, I vividly remember that “Congratulations!” rejection letter from Montclair last year. So cruel! I hope you get better news from other schools soon!
