I think it is more specific to my child, so I’ll save it ?
I checked my daughters “profile” on the CCU webadvisor and it has BFA listed but no MT email yet. Has anyone else checked their child portal. It’s not the same place as accepted… that happened months ago…
@MTMama23 oh, ok. Good luck. It’s nice to have someone who knows the school here. My son loved his audition with them. Had not really heard of them but audition coach recommended it. We will be visiting in April and have a lot of questions.
TCU: contact Harry before your visit and ask for your student to sit in on classes and then a meeting with him at end of day. Plan ahead so he can make this work for your schedule. My husband and I did a self guided campus tour while my D was in class rather than the formal tour and I really liked it because we could sit and watch student interaction and spend more time in the areas we wanted.
42nd Street is the last weekend in April, so that may be too late for you, but it may be something you want to plan. Lots of parents there too if you want to talk with them.
Also, my D was paired with two students throughout the tour day so we were able to pick their brain too when we ran into them at end of day.
If you can schedule your final campus visits back to back with your other top choices, we found this super helpful to have everything fresh in our heads to compare. My D had 9 acceptances and chose 3 to visit and by the time we got home it was down to two and then quickly to one.
Lastly, with some snooping I was able to find students and alumni to ask those final questions for each campus. We also did this to narrow to the top three.
@mauidad It’s a great school in a great area. We have friends that go there and they are very happy. My child hasn’t heard from TCU yet, so we’re still waiting.
Come to think of it, maybe other kids are in the same boat… I’ll just ask. LOL As far as TCU goes, we haven’t received an academic admit yet. My kid has great grades, so I thought we’d know something by now, but nope. So now seeing that they sent out some emails, what does that mean for us? Was my child considered?
We contacted the admissions office and they said we’'d get an academic decision in a few weeks. So… what does that mean for MT?
@MTMama23 my son got an acceptance email 2 nights ago for MT but still no academic admit. He’s valedictorian so I’m not concerned but it’s the only school that has not either admitted academically first or tied the two together. Good luck to your daughter!
@mauidad That makes me feel better. Thank you!
@MTMama23 Same here re: TCU - My S hasn’t heard about an academic admit yet.
@loribelle we would love to see 42nd Street unfortunately it’s so close to the May 1st deadline it probably doesn’t give us enough time to get any concerns addressed. Maybe they will let us come to a rehearsal.
posted in wrong section, sorry
TCU: My daughter received her academic admit about 2 weeks after her acceptance and the financial aid loaded about a week later on the portal.
@rgpolzin where did you find “profile”? We still have not heard from CCU either; wondering what that means!
Has anyone heard anything from Texas Tech???
For those who have heard from Coastal, when did you audition? Just wondering on what their method is here
@socalmtgirl19 My D auditioned in Chicago and was accepted to the BFA Acting program about 1:30pm today.
@socalmtgirl19 Auditioned at CCU on campus Feb. 23. Were told that they were shooting for March 15, and that decisions could be spread out over a few days. Surprised we heard so early today!
My D got a yes yesterday from TCU. It was great after hearing no from TSU and Belmont. The rejections hurt. Still waiting on Elon and Wagner…
@Nkttsmom Congratulations on the yes from TCU! Every yes is a good one.
The profile is on the students web advisor login where you go to pay for housing and register for classes…
@rgpolzin - sent you a private message with a questions about CCU
