Class of 2025 Admissions DISCUSSION

Well that’s due 12/21, I think if your child is interested, apply. I think many honors colleges are due before decisions are made.

I just looked into Millennium Scholars and there was an article from the Philadelphia Inquirer saying that it‘s primarily a program to help women and minorities and that 80 percent of the students have financial need.

They also only take 40 students per year.
Those are pretty long odds for our family.

Sounds like a stellar program though for those that qualify!

Does Penn State email you when your decision is ready?

you have to check your portal once a day (late afternoon should do it)

When’s rolling decisions coming out?

Looked last night around 9 pm, nothing there. Just checked now, and I got in!!!

Congrats!! Still waiting here…

Same. Did you apply under a liberal arts major? I feel like very few people have been accepted to that so far, and that’s what I applied for.

Mine went in as undergraduate studies no word yet and I haven’t seen any for that as well!

Have many university park nursing applicants been accepted yet? Completely stressing out as it’s the top choice and I’m seeing many other acceptances for other majors

My daughter just got accepted this morning via her portal. We were surprised that they updated their portals on the weekend. She is a music education major - her audition was last Saturday (Zoom). She is so excited as this is her #1 choice (Blue Band gives her chills) but unfortunately, it is the most expensive school for us since they don’t offer merit and we are out of state. It’s going to be a very tough decision!

Anyone with Computer science Majors admitted to PSU UP ?
Stats if you can post here

@Vtminy21 I asked about this earlier in the thread and lucy_van_pelt responded (shown below). At this point, no news is good news.

@HKMmom Nursing is probably the most competitive program at PSU - and if your D hasn’t heard yet, I wouldn’t worry. I believe they wait until all applications are in before making any decisions - So if the nursing deadline is 11/30, then I would occupy myself somewhere else. Not sure how the EA deadline works with nursing.

Just so you know - 2 years ago (I think) - nursing took an extra week to make their decisions, so all the nursing applicants were that much more stressed. They got an email on 1/31 telling them it would be another week (I think that’s when all answers were heard by 2/1, so maybe not an EA year).

good luck. my only advice is that no news means nothing other than no news.
