@Nagpie415, I agree with @momsquared33. If you look at past College Confidential posts on this topic, it looks like some students hear about Honors College now and some receive their acceptances later. Good luck to your daughter!

Yep. I imagine even which state you are from as a qualified OOS applicant is a factor. My son has high stats and I feel like a great essay so I think he is a deserving admit. We are from Texas. I bet they only got a few of those from TX and a truckload from states in the east coast region! Good luck to your kiddos!

Thanks for this input. My daughter got a nice scholarship but was very, very disappointed not to hear anything about the Honors College. Sounds like there might still be a chance there.

Question for those of you who may know UVM well. Iāve been watching some unofficial UVM student videos on Youtube and Iāve noticed some common themes and wondering any feedback from you all. Students are saying the new wellness dorm is very hard to get into, that the other dorms are pretty dated, there are forced triples, and that in the coldest weather the shuttle buses from the dorms to central campus may not arrive or be too full to get on, with a 10-15 min walk in the Vermont cold. They say that the tours only take you to central campus (which we experienced as well) and itās deceiving. Also the food isnāt the best. Your thoughts?

Hi Peachpie - The new dorm is probably harder to get into because it is brand new and awesome. But most residents live on Redstone Campus, which is really a 5-10 minute walk away, max. Redstone is also next to all the athletics facilities, which are currently undergoing a $70M renovation. Redstone campus dorms vary by a lot - some are 1960s-era dorms (but well maintained), others are fancy apartment style and built in the last 10-15 years. I canāt speak to the food, but UVM is big on local/organic agriculture and healthy choices. Burlington is a foodie town, so standards are high. About me: my son was admitted to UVM Class of 2025, but because we literally live 5 minutes from campus (and his mom is a prof there), he will probably attend elsewhere. If we didnāt live here UVM would be an excellent choice. Solid academics and a great lifestyle.

Hey @SuntasticMom, my DD is a current junior at UVM. She lived in the Living Learning (L/L) dorms her first two years. They are suite style, 2 doubles & 2 singles with two baths & a shared living space ā very spacious for a bunch of freshman. Thereās a tunnel to get to central campus, far from heated, but does make walk bearable in the cold! Definitely invest in quality outer gear if you choose to attend. Food seemed fine ā sheās not an adventurous eater, but said she could always find something.

Does anyone know if decisions ever come out early? I know the regular decisions come out on Feb 19th, but is there any chance of hearing before that?

I tried to log into the admitted students virtual day log in to see if I could have a hint of my status. I applied EA and got deferred and when I logged in it says āThis program is offered exclusively to admitted students and their families. We regret that we are unable to accommodate individuals on our waitlist and others at these events. However, all students are welcome to any of our regular group information sessions.ā
Does anyone else see this? Iām really nervous this means I am waitlisted. 
I have a 3.51 GPA with mostly honors and three AP classes. Okay EC activities.

I tried it too, but got a message that said āaccess deniedā. EA Deferred too. So nervous for Fridayās decision.
