Do you have to follow the class recommendations? If they want you to take your gen. ed. your first year, can you take it senior year instead? Also, if you they say that you should take 4 classes, can you enroll in more?

No, you don’t, but there’s reasons why they recommend certain classes to you. For example, if you chose to take your writing class in your senior year, you wouldn’t be able to graduate in 4 years because of pre-reqs and whatnot. You can only enroll in 19 units during the early enrollment time, but you can enroll in more units later on.

I would take a look at the 4 year plan for your major and then check out your college’s GE requirements. I would pretty much stick to your class recommendations but you can tweak it a little bit if you check out the prerequisites for the classes you need.

i’d recommend spreading out the GEs , so u dont overload yourself with tons of upper divs later on. but, get ur GE writing reqmt done ASAP
after class starts u can max out on 22units. i did this last quarter [5 courses + freshman seminar]…and dont suggest doing it, unless the classes are easy/interesting and you have time to study. i recommend sticking to 4courses max/quarter. also, this is probably off topic, but if ur considering studying abroad , it may also be wise to save some GEs for later, so u can take those easy classes abroad :)

just dont overload yourself with too many classes, you want to have a balance b/w work and fun :]
