Class Selection Question

Hello everyone,

I am going into my junior year of high school next year and I am currently signed up for:
Honors US History
Honors Pre-Calculus
Spanish 4
AP Chemistry
AP Physics 1
Symphonic Orchestra
English 11

First off, I wish to major as an engineer in college. My question is about English 11. Should I take honors or regular? I am currently a straight ‘A’ student (freshman + sophomore years). I hear that when you apply for an engineering school they mostly are looking at the math and science courses. So should I take regular English and focus more on the AP science classes or should I take the risk at honors English 11? Sophomore year I took regular English 10 fyi. Thanks for the help!

P.S. Does the current schedule above look pretty rigorous?

If you are planning on applying to top colleges, they want to see you taking the most rigorous course load and that you’re doing well. If you want to show that you are a high achieving student you should be taking the highest level courses available - while taking regular english might not be as big a deal as forgoing ‘AP’ courses, it’s something that could be taken in consideration when assessing your academic achievement.
