My daughter was accepted to the PACE program. How many classes is 60 units? What is the class structure? Is there a live lecture? How interactive is it? She is taking Latin online but finds it not to her liking. There is no lecture and there is no speaking. If she has 5-6 AP classes and 2 dual enrollment, how many are accepted by UF? If she gets financial aid next year she has to take 2 full time loads per semester, which is I presume 3 classes? How many unit will that be?
Arggg…so many questions…
60 credits is a typical amount of class work for 4 semesters (2 years). Classes are worth, on average 3 to 4 credits. Some can be as low as 1 (for example, a lab class that meets once a week) or as high as 5 (many foreign language classes that meet 5 times a week).
Google “Youtube UF Online” and you’re find several example videos. Check out the “SPN1130 WebTour” (Spanish 1) for a quick outline on how the course works. Classes can be very interactive and you do participate in group work.
Check out the following links to see how her AP and DE classes would map to UF credits:

DE classes at a Florida CC should be credited. You will need to check with UF to determine the final amount of credits, but the above link should give you a rough idea.
A full load is at least 12 credits a semester. The average should be 15 credits. Plan on her taking between 4 and 5 classes.
Finally read through the large PaCE thread, UF Online is an Associate Director of UF Online and is answering questions and taking feedback.
