Next quarter I will be taking:

CAT 2
Psych 182 Illusions and the Brain
Cogs 101b Learning Memory & Attention
Cogs 14A Introduction to research methods

Has anyone taken these classes or have any experience with them? What would be the difficulty of each class?

101B is pretty easy. you won’t really need the textbook. going to/listening to/reviewing lectures is really all that’s necessary to get the information.

i took 14 when it was just one course. i hate math, so my opinion is biased. but it’s stats, so it’s not too hard. when i took it there were “surprise” quizzes, so it required LE attendance really early in the morning. i’m terrible at math (like terrible terrible), and I passed with an ok grade. a little effort would’ve raised me up even just one letter grade. so–not too difficult.

CAT 2 will just be like CAT 1 except more emphasis on grammar. Whereas in CAT 1 if you had grammar mistakes, you got a few points marked off. In CAT 2, the TA would start proactively marking off grammar mistakes. Course load is about the same; really depends on the professor.
