Classes Freshman year

What are the average number of classes that a Freshman CSE student takes for their fall semester? And roughly how many credits are you suppose to earn each semester?

Thanks

It is not the number of classes you take but the number of credits you are taking. It seems the majority end up between 15 and 16 credits for their first semester (about 4-5 classes). The classes recommended are in the 4 year plans.

Have you downloaded the 4 year plans for the major you are interested in? http://cse.umn.edu/services/advising/CSE_CONTENT_188609.php

For chemical engineering, you need 125 credits to graduate. To make it easy, figure you need 16 credits each semester to graduate in 4 year. Some students take more than 16 as you don’t pay more if you take an extra class.
