does not getting your classes effect your graduation rate significantly?

are you joking sweetnezz998, cubman777 was able to add with the pte? did they give you those, and what’s going to happen if you don’t get your courses?

not joking, i was given no “pte” as a sociology major. i was out of luck and had to register for classes that will go towards my degree progress but not fulfill classes for my major or minor.

oh and for all those going on a date other than yesterday, the counselors were literally mind boggled as to how you are going to get any classes at all, let alone ones that will assist in completing major requirements. If you look on the schedule now, you will get an idea of what i’m talking about when you see big red closed signs next to every class.

I think it all depends on your major. I’m majoring in Japanese, and a lot of the courses I need for my major are not full yet. If you have a popular major like Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, etc., those courses get full very quickly. Majors like Japanese, Philosophy, etc., are still open. If you get an early orientation session and you’re majoring in majors that are not as competitive/popular, you’re usually good to go, or so I’ve heard. Plus, for Japanese majors, at least – PTE’s are given out very often.

I guess it might be tough for you since you’re a sociology major. My friend is a Poli Sci major and he had the same experience you did.

well of course the majors will very little people in them are going to be fine, but the majority of people are not.

That’s true. Those of you with very popular and competitive majors are going to be having trouble getting courses, especially in all future orientations from here on out.

cubman777, which major did you get accepted into, and did you get any results from the CAR yet?

hey pinkerfloyd, i was reading some of your posts, and I’m curious if you changed your major to communications and did they allow you if you wanted to at orientation?

I am going to post something that really isn’t helpful at all, but this is one of the reasons I didn’t choose UCLA. That campus is just WAY too impacted, not allowing any room for flexibility at all. I’m sorry that happened to you sweetnezz. I would be pretty ****ed. :-(

Eptar-You cannot switch into the Comm department there. I went to high school w/ the undergrad advisor for the Comm dept and she said that a double major may be possible, but you have to complete 45 UCLA units before you apply to do that and, even then, it’s not guaranteed. Don’t count on majoring in Comm unless you are accepted as a Comm major to begin with. Another reason why I didn’t choose UCLA! LOL! :-(

I got into MIMG and no I havent heard anything from my CAR
