Classes to Take and Colleges to Consider

Hi,

Ok so im a rising tenth grader and I was wondering what classes to take for my junior and senior years. My ninth grade classes were pretty lax this is what i took:

Prep Bio
Prep Geom
Prep US Govt/Econ
Honors English
Honors French Level 2
Dance

I am very strong in language and I plan to take Honors Chinese along with French Level 1 my junior year as well as English. I am also very strong in History. I am not as strong in math and science as I would like to be but I hope to take AP environmental science my senior year. I do not plan on taking any honors or AP math at all in High school.

So my question is what classes should I take and what classes should I not take. Also what colleges should I consider based on my classes.

It is very hard for us random strangers to tell you what classes to take. We don’t know, nor can we know, the academic setting of your school. We also are not able to know your capabilities, strengths, and limits - except for the incredibly general knowledge that you provided us. Don’t even think about colleges yet, at least not in specifics - just continue to do the best you can with what you have. I recommend that any course suggestions should be discussed with your parents and guidance counselor because they know you better than anyone.

Now, in general, it’s best to take the hardest courses you can - the key word is CAN. I know far too many people at my school who overreached just to take an AP or Honors class when it really wasn’t realistic, and their grades suffered for it. If math isn’t your speciality then don’t overreach. Although I will admit, AP Environmental Science is a bit of an iffy course. If you like science and that is what you want to take, well then more power to you! But take any suggestions with a grain of salt because we don’t know you in the least.
