classes

when do we get to choose our classes?
do any of you know which classes you want to take for sure?
i get so excited just THINKING about penn!!!

I know I was wondering that too!!! I’m so excited :D

hoping to test out of a lot but so far im gonna take…

math104
econ010
french (level four?)
manag 100
stat 101

what about yall?

I was under the impression they only allow 4 classes 1st semester unless you are an engineering student or maybe Wharton. I am not sure.

You can probably be granted the fifth class, but I would stay with four. The fifth class is gonna be extra work[did 4 in the fall, 5 in the spring–I knew the difference]. You’ll be at Penn 4 years, but you really want to enjoy your first semester.

:D

Math 114 maybe
Econ 010
Management 100
Stat 101

and for the BFS requirement, I think I’m going to take a seminar on the French Enlightenment. It looks really interesting and I scanned the syllabus, not too taxing :D

there are so many classes i want to take - it’s hard to choose only four

5 classes are recommended for first semester in Wharton. Therefore, take 5. And if it is too much, then you can drop one. But assuming you have no AP credits, you need 37 total. That would equal 4 courses for 3 semesters and 5 for the rest.

hey illuminar do you know of any good teachers for math114 i might be taking it but i keep hearing all the math teachers suck… There’s only four teachers for it according to the schedule thing on penn portal

I’m not sure. I don’t even have my PennKey yet because Penn lost my deposit.

Hi!

I have to register for Math 104 or Math 114 (depending on my Calc BC scores) and I wanted to know who the best profs were. I want a prof that isn’t dead boring, happy to take questions, give help after class, and just nice overall.

Also, do you know on average how many classes you should take related to your perspective major in your freshman year? I plan to be an Econ major, but I don’t have to take Intro Econ because of AP credits, and I can"t take Intermediate Econ classes because they require Math 114 as a prerequisite, so I can only take Econ courses AFTER I’m done with all these courses, which means I might not even be able to take a singe Econ course as a freshman! Is that correct, or is there still a way to take econ courses if I haven"t taken the basic, Intermediate Econ courses?
