WOW, how can someone be #1 in their class with only a 1300 SAT ?
Really? This is how, a student can be easily be #1 in their class and have a mid range SAT because they simply donlt do well on standardized testing! Simple as that!! My daughter is in the top ten and has the highest SAT and the current #1 has SAT in the 1300 range. A students SAT does NOT dictate where they are ranked in their class! SMH
Ok, so this is weird and we’re tenuously happy here. Daughter got e-mail this am inviting her to open house for accepted nursing students! Still no e-mail with code or letter though. Hopefully today. Crazy if true!
maybe so, but from what I have seen, most valedictorians score much higher on the SAT’s- go have a look at the IVY league blogs, these kids don’t have a 4.0 UW and 1300 SAT, they are more like 4.0UW and 1600 SAT
Just an FYI. Oos daughter accepted with no merit scholarship. Undecided major. 3.85 uw 4.35 w. At private college prep h.s. Top 5 school in state. 9 ap classes rest honors. School doesn’t rank but 130 students in class. 1270 sat/27 act she not best test taker. varsity cross country, swimming and softball starting in 8th grade. Travel softball player. 4 national honor society clubs. Not much in class extras. best of luck to all who are still waiting.
Yes, we are from PA. Trying to look at is as a good thing
@labegg Thank you for the “bloom where you are planted” sentiment. Am going to share it with my daughter whose got some great choices, but can’t seem to pare down the list.
D accepted to nursing today!! From VA- very excited for her and proud
so very happy for all those accepted, and also so very happy for all these wonderful high-achieving students regardless of their Clemson status. Remember kids get their clues from their parents about how to respond to ‘wins’ and ‘losses’ – lets encourage each other as parents to model gracious behavior.
Is there ANYONE out there who still has not gotten any type of decision mail yet? It’s already Friday so a week since decisions were mailed? Seems like something went wrong? Is there ANY way to tell what the decision is other than a piece of snail mail? Thank you!
Yes, there is. Son still waiting. Called yesterday, confirmed mailed, but won’t discuss over the phone until Tuesday Feb 20.
How super frustrating!! For some indication before then, try the “Early Tell” on the housing portal - seems to have held true for most.
@stayathomedman Thank you for replying! I feel better knowing we’re not the only ones. I will update if we hear anything.
@a_masters16 we tried the “early tell” and got to the enter code page. Wondering tho since it’s so late if everyone’s code gets them to that page too. Also… have any accepted students received an email with that code or is the code in the letter? Website says code will be emailed after letter is mailed. No emails here so getting even more confused. Thank you!
@4to8m8, our code was in the mailed letter. Have not received any email correspondence since the application complete email back in October, which only contained his ID. The lack of communication is a bit unsettling - I personally would love to see an email confirming my son’s acceptance and next steps.
@a_masters16 thank you for your reply! The lack of communication is unsettling. For us, who have nothing in hand, the knowledge that emails haven’t been received by accepted students is hopeful.
@4to8m8, if you can get to the activation code page, then you child is more than likely accepted into Clemson. My D was able to get to the activation code last Friday, and she received her tiger town package with the activation code on Monday. We’re in state, so generally, mail would reach us first. Good luck, and hope you do get that orange package in a couple of days.
Daughter Waitlisted. 29 ACT, 4.36 weighted GPA, applied to Nursing/Biology as a second choice. Our college counselor called admissions b/c he was somewhat surprised. We all thought Clemson was a target school. Admissions rep said there’s a 20% increase in OOS applications this year and Nursing and Biological Sciences are particularly competitive. Also, there is a new Director of Admissions which may revamp the process. Congrats to all the Clemson Tigers out there and good luck!
Received my decision notice last night (florida). Accepted into Pre-Business for summer with 1380 sat, 31 act, 4.6w
@collegeplease22 congrats! My son is also a pre-business major starting in september.
