You didn’t mention if you are in state or out of state or your class rank and that can have a bearing too, but it really all depends on this years pool of applicants, how many they will be accepting and how you stack up against them. You can call the nursing department and ask how many spots they have and what last year’s average scores etc were for applicants. Clemson doesn’t really look at extracurriculars.
Curious to know the stats of students accepted to Nursing for class of 2022.
And any info (accepted, deferred, declined) for Nursing class of 2023.
My daughter is applying, but goes to a very competitive high school. We’re afraid she will be penalized for her class rank, which will only be maybe top 30%. Ranking won’t be announced until late September. She would likely be top 10% at a less competitive high school.
Hoping Clemson takes that into consideration and doesn’t just blindly look at stats. Someone in admissions there previously told me “Yeah, we know that high school. They really need to stop ranking because it’s just hurting their students.”
I had a conversation with one of the heads of Admission there. He understood my point about the high caliber students at our HS but they still want a top % student, regardless. Even if your HS doesn’t rank, Clemson estimates the student’s rank based on a number of select criteria. It really is not fair but that’s how it’s done there. It’s all (only) about the numbers. Best of luck!!!
Admission to Clemson is based on GPA, test scores, rank and rigor . It is a numbers based admissions process. It’s important to remember that at this point in time, almost every applicant has high stats. You’re application is being weighed against applicants from all over the country and world, many from competitive high schools.
