Clemson Student

I am a transfer student heading into Clemson’s engineering program. I have decided that I really want to continue playing college lacrosse so I am interested in joining Clemson’s club team, but I also want to rush. Is it possible to both be in a fraternity, play a sport and have time to study?

It depends on a number of things:

  1. How quickly you learn new material and how disciplined a student you are.
  2. How much time club lacrosse spends training, competing and traveling to competitions, and is it just one season or year round?
  3. Can you arrange your academic schedule to be "lighter" during your pledge semester?
  4. What type of grades are you shooting for?

For most people, I’d be inclined to say “two of three, but not all”… but a truly disciplined and exceptional student might be able to swing all three and do reasonably well.
