Hello,
I had a couple questions on the likelihood of my acceptance and general Clemson things. First, I had a 3.4 in a great public high school and scored a 1940 on the SAT’s, I applied to Clemson during my senior year and got wait list accepted. However by the time I got accepted I had already committed to PITT. I now want to transfer seeing as how Clemson is a better fit for me. I had a 2.54 in my first semester here and was in the Engineering school so I was not taking any easy classes. How likely is it that I can transfer into Clemson Engineering? Also, contingent on my acceptance, what is Clemson life like? I just want a basic understanding of general campus atmosphere and night life. Lastly, if I were to get in whats the best option for housing if I dont want to be in an Living learing comunity? Id prefer apartment sytle but I also want suggestions for normal dorms.
Thanks!
Hi! Clemson transfer student here. I can’t speak specifically to Clemson Engineering, as I am in the college of business and behavioral science,s but I can talk about how the transfer experience was for me. I had a 3.4 in HS as well at a top public school. went to a top 40 private university to study engineering, didn’t enjoy it, decided to transfer with a 2.8 GPA (and a few withdrawls). Life here at Clemson, is in my opinion, great. I am from the north and went to school in the north, so the south was definitely an adjustment, but it’s definitely nice to be in a different atmosphere with people from vastly different background. The social scene is pretty downtown/bar focused and a heavy emphasis on greek life. My housing placement was originally in a four person suite (2 bedrooms, 2 to a room), but I THANKFULLY got switched to an apartment (Lightsey Bridge). I applied mid year to transfer so I didn’t get a choice, but honestly just living with roommates on campus is a great way to get to know someone immediately when you get to campus. If you have any other questions, feel free to message me!
