Weighted GPA: 4.021
Unweighted GPA: 3.489
Initial ACT score: 19, but I am taking a tutoring program for the ACT.
Extra Curriculars: selected for Boys state as a junior(elected for county chairman), Mu Alpha Theta member (senior year, this year), Beta Club (junior year and this year, senior), Varisty soccer all years up to now (will play again this year), Club soccer junior year and this year, National arts honors society.
Jobs: helped my dad often in landscaping work during my first two years of high school.
I am also a minority. Born here, but have Mexican parents. (I don’t know if that affects my acceptance)
Could you let me know what my chances are and what I need to do now or write on my application in order to increase my chances. I am having a hard time deciding between University of South Carolina and Clemson. Please help me decide which is the better school. Thank you, I appreciate it!
The best thing you can do is devote a ton of time to getting your ACT up. The average there is a 29 with the bottom 25% being 26. I think you need at least a 26 to have a fighting chance.
I suggest that you look at the common data set for each school to see how your stats compare to the students accepted into the most recent class .Are you instate or OOS ?
Clemson admits based on GPA , test scores, rank and rigor. ECs are not weighted or considered heavily.
Yes, that tutoring service I enrolled in should help me bump it up much higher than it is. Thank you for the response. I will definitely try to bring that up. I know it is very low.
