Clemson vs. U of South Carolina English

I was wondering whether Clemson or Carolina would be better for an English major

South Carolina would be better for an english major. A better overall school though? Definitely Clemson :)

Let me know if you have any questions about Clemson!

Ok thanks!

pierre,
Why would English be better at USC over Clemson?

Inside South Carolina, there is a great divide. You are either a USC-Gamecock fan/supporter/student or you are a Clemson-Tiger fan/supporter/student. They don’t often meet or cross the line.

To determine who has the best English Program, you need to look on their websites and examine their faculty and perhaps contact one of them politely to ask an appropriate and relevant question.

Then visit both campuses and see for yourself.

For the record, you have other choices too: Furman, Wofford and Presbyterian College have very strong liberal arts programs

hawkette, Clemson is a pre-professional/technical school. It’s great for architecture, business, agriculture, education, engineering, and science fields. There are some liberal arts fields that are awesome at Clemson but english is not one of them (history, political science, economics are great though). My roommate was an english major but was taking 300 level classes and didn’t feel challenged enough so he transferred. (just an example)

Though, the best public college in South Carolina for liberal arts is definitely College Of Charleston.
