My D has developed an interest in Hamilton College.

D is very influenced by the ambiance of the surrounding town. We have never been to that part of New York. What is Clinton like? More charm or more industrial drab?

There is nothing industrial about Clinton. It is purely charming during the warm spring, summer, and early autumn months.

Thanks, colbert. I'm looking for cheap airfares today!

Bumping my own thread -

D is a vegetarian, and Clinton (as much of it as I can see on the web) looks as though there are not many restaurants. Any recommendations for where one can get a vegetarian meal close to campus?

does she like pizza? there is this amazing pizza place right around the bottom of the hill, coming from the school it would probably be the first restaurant you hit, and i think it is called tony's. and btw, portions are HUGE.

A teen who doesn't like pizza? Haven't met one yet!

Thanks, we tend to grow a little tired of pizza when vegetarian options are few and far between. But we'll keep Tony's in mind. At least it's something!

Thanks, Blondie

if im not mistaken, think that hamilton has a lot of food options for vegetarians in the dining hall... i have a faint memory of it being mention on a tour or something, but you might want to look that up!

Thanks, lacigam. I was actually thinking more about our immediate situation (i.e., visiting in July); but that's certainly good to know if D continues to like the school after our visit!
