Maybe try Lands End or LL Bean.
Lands’ End has pants in any combo, and they go on sale very often. My son is just over 6’3" and weighs about 150 (with red hair to boot!), and he wears Lands End tailored fits to school every day (uniform, but they come in other colors.) You order the waist size and then the inseam.
I also found that Lands’ End Boys size 20 with adjustable waist fit great until he was 6’2", so those might be an option. Brooks Brothers Boys size 20 also did great until he was about 6’2". The boys sizes are cheaper, too. We still get the “tailored” or “slim” cut in all the pants.
Now S23 has been handing down his size 20s to my husband, who is not amused. At 5’10".
American Tall has lots of long inseam and smaller waisted pants. That is where we get my DS’s 28x36 jeans.
My son is 6’2” and very thin. We have found that Abercrombie super skinny is the best for him. He wears 30x34. It is so difficult to find pants with smaller waists!
These go quickly (as you can see they are out), but when they come in stock, I order a bunch!

These look really good! They might be wider than what he has now, but they look really nice and I love the selection!
Edited: they have skinny fit- YAY!
My sons are 6’5 and 6’6 , thin but athletic. Bonobos, Lululemon. LL Bean has tall stuff too. .
Our trouble is finding the interesting colors. S23 likes pink pants, yellow pants, salmon, baby blue etc. We were good when he was a Boys 20 for these, but they don’t tend to sell them hemmed to order, and the 30x34 combo is not common.
If anyone knows of the brightly colored pants in a slim/skinny tall fit that are a reasonable price, post here please! His Vineyard Vines pink ones (30x34) are getting discolored, and I was lucky to find those on clearance an few years ago. Recently, I can’t find any interesting colors in the skinny sizes.
Edit: I should have specified that for our family, “reasonable price” means with the sale at $35 or less for the pants. That can be the clearance price, but I can’t go higher.
The j crew link that @helpingthekid73 posted above has the fun colors in a slim fit pant with lots of sizes, but they are pricey.
Think Lucky Brand might work
J. McLaughlin has good for the office pants (cords, chinos) in that size. When DS was younger and even thinner, Abercrombie was the only place that actually had a selection that fit him.
While he loves sweats, most still are short.
For my 17 year old DS who is the same size:
H&M - not high quality, but good if they are still growing or for some “fun” colors as mentioned above or more trendy items.
Topman (I purchase at Nordstrom)
I have had luck with some Old Navy styles; they have many different pant styles.
I can relate and had same issue with my son. My go to brand for jeans was American Eagle.
For dressier khaki/chino pants, the Amazon brand, “Amazon Essentials” has a wide range of styles/colors/sizes, including 29 x 34, at very affordable prices.
Still challenging to find sweat pants that are longer in length and won’t shrink. He has a few pairs that now look like capri joggers:)
They are almost always on sale, I think 50% off now!

My son is very thin and 6’4", so it’s always been a struggle! Check out the bran KUHL, they have pants with inseams up to 36 inches. Casual, “climber” style that both my sons really like.
I like bright vibrant colors and require an “athletic fit.” I hate baggy. Vuori.
Some more to check out
Public Rec has separate inseam sizing, so you could get a 30x34 for example
Duer has separate inseam sizing for certain styles like this one:
I’ve checked all these recommended sites and no one has what I need (note, I am not the OP!)
Does anyone know where I could get 26W and 35L or 36L – preferably at $50 or less? Or should I just send my son lots of cookies and candy to try to get his 26W to at least a 28 or 30???
Why not order a 28/36 and get the waist taken in at the tailor’s?
Great idea, thanks!
