A good, tight belt could possibly help!
Have you tried a store, or an on-line retailer, that has tall sizes? He might need âmedium - tallâ rather than âlargeâ (or less likely âlarge - tallâ rather than âextra largeâ).
I have had the same issue for the past 50+ years. It used to be that all I could do was to to buy the baggy larger size. However, tall sizes became available at some point.
I get quite a bit of my stuff from either Eddie Bauer, LL Bean, or Landâs End. I think that they all have tall sizes in both pants, and shirts/jackets/coats.
A number of years back for Xmas I got my S a pair or two of jeans from Gap, Landâs End, and Eddie Bauer. He is 6â4 and a larger build, though athletic. All these companies have tall sizes on line. Gap worked best for him style wise and he bought from there on line for many years. Landâs End is a bit too old school for his age group. Eddie Bauer online works well for him, and I buy for him from the sales.
They look great, but donât come longer than 32.
My son keeps growing up but hasnât yet grown out. Itâs a family pattern, I know he will fill in. But right now he is 5â10â and 120 lbs. Which clothing brands might work for him? He used to get one suit a semester from Hugo Boss (he does a lot of performances and church) and old navy for the rest, but neither of those work now. And Modellâs has closed. I am at a loss and his ankles are showing, again!
American Eagle has good jeans and pants. My son usually just wears track pants though.
If you live near a major city (or donât mind shopping for menswear online), you might try Suitsupply. Itâs a Dutch company, so everything tends to be made for tall and skinny people. They have several fits, and even their roomiest fit is still fairly snug for me (6â2" 175 lbs).
Have you tried Landâs End? Their boysâ slim pants go to a 33 inch inseam in size 20 (28 1/2 inch waist). The boysâ pants have adjustable elastic in the waist.
Landsâ End also carries tall mensâ pants starting with a 34 inch waist.
Have you tried old navy online? They tend to have 26 W 33-34 length online even when the stores donât.
ASOS online has a huge selection of sizes and price points. If you canât find it there, you canât find it anywhere.
Try Gap or JcPenney for jeans. My son is a 28 waist and 35 inseam.
We were able to get him 30 waist and 36 inseam at a Wrangler outlet store, though it took awhile of very careful looking.
He normally just expects to have to wear a belt because he canât find anything long enough with that small of a waist.
I like Abercrombie. My son is 6â2 and around 155 lbs. The skinny pants fit him well. For some reason J Crew just doesnât fit well on him at all.
I want to try Bird Dog pants but he is 30 waist 34 length, but they donât have that combo (34 length).
Abercrombie was DSâ go-to when he needed really small waist and length. They were cut well.
J Crew has a lot of options, but for whatever reason, that only hit his radar when the waist started with a 3. Worth looking.
