Club idea help

Hey guys. im not gonna post all my ECs orgrrades because i dont have time. But based off my classes and ECs i am focused on Computer science. I have 8 (of 24) classes in school that have either a computer background or are only on computers (im in an academy at my HS that focuses your class towards computers so in english class i write eays about computers for example). im getting a job with the geeksquad next summer, im a+ certified, and i have to job shadow and get intenships with computer companies in the next few years.

Short version: I want to go to a school like Caltech or MIT and get a PhD in computer Science and a Bachelors in bussiness. I know that making a HS club and being very involved with it is a major good EC. so my question is what COMPTER orreinted club would you guys reccomend? Note im currently under 18 and so PC repair is out of the question. Thanks ill update later as i have to leave right now.

How about a club that teaches people about a particular subject matter related to computing (voice, network, programming--or divided into one of these areas); or what about a club that teaches seniors how to use the computer to talk to other seniors or to use the internet or how to protect themselves against internet or regular criminal scams; or what about a club that educates adults on how to protect their children against internet predators; or how about a club that sets up a forum for a community purpose--say raising funds for your high school or enabling the local government to gain survey information about the local citizens' needs.

The point I'm making here is that there are about a thousand to a million things your club can do--all of which are useful--so it shouldn't be that hard to find one that interests you and your classmates.

You don't have to start a club. That's not the only way to impress top colleges.

You could demonstrate your computer interest by getting a job in that field during the school year or by doing volunteer work such as designing web pages for nonprofits.

You also could volunteer by teaching computer skills to seniors or by raising $ to provide computers to low income students or to their schools.

What Northstarmom said. The very last of her suggestions probably would sound the most impressive, though also the biggest challenge to take on as you'll then have to deal with lots of bureaucracy.

However, I'd say go for whatever sounds like a fun and is something you would want to do!
