Club positions

Im a junior and I am in the officer poisition in many clubs. I was wondering how do collegees know you have a officer posirion. Do you have the to fill out a form and make the spondor sign it?

You just list in on your application. That’s it. There is a place for it on the Common App.

So can’t people lie about their leadership positions then?

If you are asking whether it is likely the college will actually check on the student’s self-reported leadership roles, the answer is most will not unless there is some real suspicion created by what is claimed. Some colleges like the UCs verify all ECs for a randomly selected group of applicants so if you end up part of the sample you will be discovered.

How exactly do colleges verify participation? We had lots of kids last year sign up for Mock Trial, and never participate on A Team or B Team. I’m now hearing that a lot of them are putting Mock Trial on their apps.
There are literally two kids applying to college this year that can say they were on A Team for two years, and of course one of them is the Captain (me). Are these kids going to bring down the significance of being on the team for those of us who actually busted our butts to compete?

Yeah you just list them. And yes you can lie but you run the risk of getting caught. I don’t think it is worth it, because if you do get in you know you are living on a lie

Not only that, but the bump you get from being vice president of your school’s Model UN club or FBLA group just isn’t that great. It’s simply not worth the risk, however small, that they’ll find out you were lying, nor is it worth your integrity.

It’s just I am the officer positions of so many clubs. I don’t think I can handle it. That’s why I am asking.
