club president or state position...which looks better?

<p>I currently have the chance to hold a state position for a club (with only about 20 other kids in the state having equal or better positions) but i was planning on running for president of my high school chapter.</p>

<p>I feel like the state position would look better because it is more competitive and i'd be representing like 10 schools, but then again I think the title "president" sounds better and more impressive, even though it is less responsibility.</p>

<p>which do you guys think would look better to colleges, especially ivies?</p>

<p>Obviously state, Ivies dont care about name but about what it takes to get there…</p>

<p>And like you said, state - a lot more responsibilities, meaning better position</p>

<p>If you don’t achieve anything in either position, neither “looks better” than the other.</p>

<p>Adcoms are well aware of application-padding brats. In the end, it’ll be the impact that counts.</p>
