Yes

how does the club register these players?

Actually, the answer is closer to “it depends” if by “club,” the OP is referring to clubs outside the school. And then it really will depend upon the school and/or how talented the player is. In most instances, commitments to the school will take priority.

Assuming the school allows, the school will not coordinate schedules, transportation, etc. The onus is on the student.

International does not filter into the equation; the answer applies to domestic students as well

No idea, but they do. If you/your child is considering a prep school in the northeast, many from those schools play with Black Rock, which is geared to prep players. (Black Rock was started by the former Berkshire head coach). The Right to Dream kids all play for Black Rock, as do many, many international kids.

To the OP - please check the school’s policy regarding leaving campus in this era of COVID. Last year, many students were unable to do club or travel teams due to COVID-related policies. With the uptick recently in COVID cases, schools may be in a situation to re-evaluate policies for off-campus participation in club teams. It was our experience that club team participation was a) very expensive, b) difficult to get to practices and tournaments unless your school is within an hour of locations or you have a ride share plan, and c) difficult to navigate if you play another sport for your school because of athletic commitments on weekends and Wednesdays. Also, many schools require underclassmen to do 3 sports or a type of EC each term. It’s difficult to get an exemption as a first year student. For example: If you play soccer (Fall) and do Track (spring), or Squash (winter), you will have to find time for the club schedule!

Check on the school policies and expectations for your EC commitments while considering school. Connect with other athletes who are doing club soccer at the schools you are considering, so you know the score. :soccer:

Yes, the school allows leaving Campus, as many day students were enrolled in the club programs during spring, totally understand and agree with the difficulty to get to practices and games, and of course the cost, But soccer is his passion, he was offered to play at the Top team for his age group and is really looking forward to playing but I don’t really know the rules for us soccer and international students.

He is an 8th grader and yes Berkshire is on top of his list for the next year

Yes the club is outside the school but both hold a " good relationship" since most of the school players are on that club

To my knowledge, there are no different rules for international students regarding club play.

I think @Golfgr8 's point about covid policies is likely to be the fly in the ointment here if you know the school has players on a club team. As mentioned, many schools facilitate this while others make it almost impossible. Sounds like you are targeting the former.

When DS was in school, the local club teams benefited from the boarders (both domestic and international) that the BS day students “recruited” for them. Added benefit- day student parents provided transportation!

My son just graduated from boarding school, played for Black Rock, and is going on to play in college. I would be happy to answer any questions either here or via PM.

My son’s club team has several boarding school players on it. At the older ages a teammate drives them all to and from practice. They only participate with the club during their school team’s offseason.
