Club Sports VS Intramurals

OK I'm wondering what the difference is between the two and if Cornell have Club Lacrosse and Intramural Lacrosse (since I wanna play in college).

Club is intercollegiate but less competitive than varsity and no scholarships (if the school gives athletic scholarships). Plus you have to try out and make the team...Intramurals are just for fun and yes Cornell has a club lacrosse team. (Welcome to SAO - Cornell University)

Here's the link to the intramurals site...

No Lax listed but sometimes intramural programs will take suggestions

So does Cornell have intramural lax or is it yet to be proposed?

no they don't have it. The fields are usually pretty booked in the spring with softball, but it can't hurt to ask. I know for girls at least, club Lax doesn't really have tryouts. If you make an effort to go to every practice, even if you are a beginner, they will let you play in the games. But either way, if you want to play, i'm pretty sure you can just go to the practice without a tryout. I'm not sure how it works for the guys though.

guys club lax is one of the best in the country from what i've heard. my buddy who plays on the team says there are a lot of beginners/intermediates who practice and that its not crazy competitive to get on. if you want to play in games especially important ones they probably expect a decent commitment and some skills.
