Clubs at UCB

Hello! So I'm considering UCB for college next fall and I was wondering what kinds of clubs do people join on campus. I feel like the type of clubs the college is important to know and consider as well. I know that there is over 700 organizations on campus and I would like to know how some of these are.

So, please list some of the clubs you're involved with and their description. Also, maybe some things you like/dislike about it and how you balance schoolwork with your extracurriculars.

Also, is anyone in the tango or salsa club? It seems very interesting and I would like some feedback ^_^

thanks!

You can go here for a list of all student organizations:

Yeah, I checked but I want something from a student’s point of view.

anime club: these people are seriously socially awkward and stick to themselves. I saw so many walking stereotypes I was speechless. there are regular people who enjoy manga and then there’s THEM.

tags: isolated, reclusive, awkward, strange, freaky

Hopefully this isn’t a thread jacking, but I thought this question would be appropriate on this thread. Does UCB ever have like, a club fair? Where all the clubs sort of make booths to advertise their clubs and entice members. My HS did that and it was a nice way to see all the clubs and talk to people in them.

Also is there a sort of hip hop/street dance club? I tried searching for one but I could only find one that required some sort of audition.

yes they have one called calapalooza at the start of every semester

@alluric: It’s called Calapalooza and it’s at the beginning of every fall semester (don’t know about spring). Over 100 clubs have tables and many people just walk around and check them out. Also, Cal Day offers a chance to find clubs, but that day is so much more busy with more visitors and other things going on, while Calapalooza is more strictly for clubs. This is the link to last year’s info: Calapalooza

The link also has some names of dance clubs. From what I know, there’s a whole bunch here performing outside at nights in Lower Sproul and in performance, I just don’t know many of them by name.

Aah you beat me to it celsius_233 haha.
