Anyone have any ideas on what clubs/sports they want to get involved with at WP?

Model Arab League, Model UN, that CWT looks pretty tight, maybe pep band or drum and bugle, shooting team or biathlon (I love shooting and I sort of love running), 2% club, thats about it.

Sport Parachute Team...can't think of anything that would be cooler!

Yeah that would be tight, although I heard they never go on leave because they constantly practice.

Mountaineering, Orienteering, Boxing, Martial Arts, and Sport Parachute. I want to try out for all of them and see if i can get on any besides the first two, but i heard that you can only try out for one :(

chess club, Combined Arms Club, Domestic Affairs Forum, Flying Club, WKDT Radio Station

I have a good question. Does mountaineering team count as your sport? Does orienteering count as your sport? Does anyone have a list of everything that actually counts as your sport?

yes mountaineering counts as a sport and gets you out of parading, and according to my friend they had more spots than they had people, when he was there. :)

Rugby, wrestling maybe...

Chinese language club,Flying club, Latter-day Saints Student Association (notice not a single woman in their picture? sad...), Scoutmasters Council, Snowboarding club( do they have this? if not we'll start one), orienteering

ahhh theres too many!!!

I go to USMAPS and I'm on the fencing team. I think I'm going to try out for fencing at USMA because I already have experience. I might join the pep band. Is it true that USMA has a class for cadets to learn how to ballroom dance?

yea, they have a ballroom dancing class. It was a mandatory class up until like the 80's, and now it's just an elective....haha, it woudl be pretty cool to take.

Does pep band take up your sport time? Because it would be fun to do, and I know D&B Corps does, but I don't want it to take up all my time. I would love to do orienteering also, Chinese club sounds great. I would love parachute team, but they can't leave ever! I've been told to join as many clubs as possible. I really want to do sailing though, that sounds great.

I like to go clubbing ;)

seal clubbing or dance clubbing?

killin the baby seals. Thats how I earn my living

MMMM... Baby seal. Now thats some good eat'n!

Seriously though, does anyone know anything about Sandhurst. I know basically what it is, but does it count as a club? How much time does it take up? That would probably be my first choice. If not that, than the parachute team looked pretty awesome as well (I don't care so much about the "no leave" aspect; after all, since when do plebes have lives?). Fencing has always looked cool, but I have no previous experience with it, so I guess it's a no go. Paintball club looked great too, but with my luck it would be completely filled with former Rangers and I'd be sucking my thumb in the fetal position by the end of try-outs. I'm sure I'll like whatever I end up with, so long as it keeps me fit and doesn't drag down my academic or military training.

Sandhurst counts as a sport

how many rangers could there possibly be???

Sandhurst... hmmmm

One of the cadets featured in "Surviving West Point" was a new fencer.

Sandhurst is pretty hard

Cheerleading! (rabble-rousers) and maybe polevaulting (but i'm not sure if i'm up to par for college-level vaulting). I'm wondering if cheerleading counts as a sport or just a club...anyone know? i'm also a bit peeved that there is no girls gymnastics offered, as i have nine years of competetive gymnastics racked up...urg. also, what's the url for all the clubs/intramurals/sports at west point? all these clubs sound so awesome!
