Clubs

What is the best way to get involved with clubs/organizations/newspaper. Is there a specific area to go to see what they are all about? (I know there is a laundry list on the internet, but I am asking what do I do when I arrive on campus).

Also, is it that big of a disadvantage not participating in one of those pre-orientation programs?

There’s a club fair towards the beginning of the year. Basically just show up and sign up on the email list for a bunch of clubs you’re interested in and then go to the meetings.

And the vast majority of people don’t do the pre-orientation programs so it’s no big deal.

It’s no big deal not to do a pre-orientation trip, but they come heartily recommended.

if you have any questions about the trips, give me a PM. Im pretty involved and know a lot about the trips.

make sure you notice when the club fair is and attend it. according to the email I got about setting up a table, it’s Sunday, August 29, 2010, 1-4 pm in Barton Hall. that’s the first Sunday after classes start. most clubs have some nice intro meetings where you can attend and find out what they’re about. one club I’m in, I read a chalking on the sidewalk during orientation week and then decided it sounded interesting.
