CMC for Pre-Med?

I know CMC is more about government and leadership (which is awesome!) but I was wondering how CMC was for pre-med.. its between CMC vs. USC vs. Emory right now...gahh! Help me!

Thanks

there are way more science majors at CMC then you would think because of joint science, if memory serves me correctly their med school acceptance rates are fantastic

I think its like 100% acceptance into a med school, 90% into either first or second choice. it seems like a good place to be

are classes “curved” i keep hearing about a “curve” in classes to avoid whole classes getting As (which is dumb in my opinion, you should deserve the grade you work for!) is that a problem at cmc? I am really thinking about coming here next year

No, classes are not curved. According to the CMC Registrar, the average gpa at CMC is between a B+ and an A-.

Wow, that’s great! Any other pre-med advice out there? Any insights would be VERY helpful

classes are small; intro classes like bio and chem have like about 40 students per class. Upper div classes are about 20ish. Professors actually teach the labs too, which is a major plus. Classes generally have no curve, so you get what you deserve. Curves in college are different from curves in hs.

Just to make it clear, curves are set so the class avg will equal a b-/c+ and so depending on your class if everyone is smart (even if everyone is scoring above 90s, class avg score would = b-). We typically dont have that sort of system in our science classes.
