What do you think of the creative writing programs at these schools?
Carnegie-Mellon, Pitt, Ohio University

I would definitely go to Pitt since it has the strongest liberal arts programs out of all 3 schools, Carnegie Mellon is more of a technical school and to be honest, Ohio University pales in comparison to a school like Pitt

That’s encouraging. I think I have a better shot at Pitt anyway. CM is a reach for me.

Pretty sure writing is one of the specialties at OU.

CMU actually has great creative arts programs (Design, writing, etc.). I’d go there if u get in.

Maybe I will wait & see if my May or June SATs are any higher than my March scores- if they go up, I’ll definitely apply to CM! Thanks.

CMU is great for computer science, engineering, music, theatre, design, sciences, architecture and economics but writing is not one of the strong “creative” majors offered at CMU, I’d pass on CMU in favor of Pitt and the other LAC’s you’re looking at.

Despite it not being one of the stronger “creative” majors at CMU (After researching, Pierre is correct that design, theatre, and music are the main ones), it is still a good major there. I’d still go there for that major over Pitt or Ohio due to the smaller size and prestige of the institution.
